Playstation Vita

The Vita will muddle through even if Sony have to start giving them away with new PS3s. It's a great machine and I really hope that in the end it's quality will shine through. Didn't the PSP have a pretty dodgy first few years as well? I seem to remember that there was a a lot of talk of it's early demise and in the end it had some great games.

Q1 apparently. Also on Android and iOS too though, so can't see that having a big influence on sales.

The mobile version is a separate thing, more of a companion app that contributes to your character. The game is the same on PC and Vita; you can swap between them and play with people on either.

So I've just noticed that my Vita has the OLED mura-effect where when black the screen is blotchy in places. I've read that it's fairly common among OLED screens however so I'm wondering if its worth the hassle of getting a replacement Vita and whether the new one will just have it as well. Does anyone else have the same issue and if so, did you replace your vita and was it sorted?

An image of the problem I found via google:

Okay, you can all carry on talking about the game now. :P I'd been kind of avoiding this thread because I didn't want to hear too much about it beforehand. Erm, even though I've played through the PS2 game several times...

For some reason I ignored the more reliable sellers and could have made things a lot worse for myself  I compared various offers, shipping deals, and feedback with different retailers and ended up using CDUniverse - I think I had used them many years ago for music but not for import games. I ordered on November 19th under standard delivery (to keep the cost down) and it was about $39 and $7 shipping, which worked out at a little under £30 according to my Paypal details. I don't know why I opt for the most obscure retailers all of the time, but it worked out okay in the end :P

Yeah I've been trying to find out a bit more about it and from what I can gather it's identical in terms of features except that it has 8 players in a race rather than 10, and graphically it's cut down a bit as petrichor said. I compared a ps3 and vita video of the same track and there were some scenery items cut out on the vita version, but not too much.

Oh cool, I thought they were the same and people would just get in on their bloody phones. Maybe it will spike up Vita sales in Japan then (Feb 28th), I remember Phantasy Star Portable sales being very strong.

Hmm should I buy the white Vita and sell my black one? Or is this just capitalistic stupidity?

As someone who's done just that (offloading my 3G Vita to Amazon for a hoped for £140 depending on if they accept my claim that it's in like new condition) I'd say yes. The White machine is gorgeous, doesn't show up fingerprints as much as the black model and it is also most definitely capitalist stupidity.
