Playstation Vita

Yep. The machines are region-free, as are the retail games. However, your PSN account is locked to whatever region you sign up for, and all downloadable games/services (including PS+) will have to be of the same region. So if you set up a UK account, you'll need a UK PS+ to go with it, and only be able to download UK games from the store.

You can switch account, but that involves wiping the Vita, so isn't something you can just do on a whim (unlike the PS3, where a US and UK account can happily coexist, allowing games from both services to play nice).

No, it'd be fine! You can set the account up as you wish. You just won't be able to mix and match between two separate accounts, is all. So set up your US Vita with your UK account and it's all roses.

Can I just take this time to remind everyone how awesome Motorstorm RC is.

Thanks

Funnily enough, not turned my Vita on for ages, but did last night to do the 2.00 update and the first thing I played was MRC, picking up a few more medals, and then did a few uncompleted levels on Velocity.

Sony has revealed that 525,000 PlayStation 3 units were sold in the United States between November 18th and November 24th. “Black Friday bundle sales increased 15%, and total PS3 sales including hardware, software and peripherals, grew 9% over the same period last year,” according to Sony. In Latin America, which isn’t included in the sales figures provided, PlayStation 3 saw a staggering 200% year-over-year growth.

PlayStation Vita also enjoyed great sales in the US during the period ranging from November 18th to November 24th. 160,000 units were sold during that time period. Sony notes that Amazon in particular sold out of “specially priced [Vita] inventory” in under five hours.

No one at this point argues against the amazingness of PlayStation Plus, and Sony reports that Plus also saw significant growth. “Sales of PlayStation Plus subscriptions on PlayStation Network increased 259% compared to last year’s Black Friday period,” Sony states, with “customer satisfaction rates for PS Plus… above 95%.”

Not bad!

Anyone tried Travel Bug yet? Sent my Bug out into the world

It sounds a bit daft from what I've read, but for a freebie I can't complain too much so I might try it.

As an aside, I've found that I've probably taken my Vita out with me more than most previous handhelds thanks to things like Near and now the improved maps (as well as having online access everywhere thanks to 3G - sadly my phone's internet capability is pretty poor to say the least...)

I must say, ps+ is basically going to stop me buying vita games from now on. I've got many of the 'big' titles already, so those that I don't own (unit 13, for example), I'll hold off buying on the chance they'll roll round on plus.

Edit: curse my fat fingers and slow iPhone! I accidentally negged Qazimod; can someone give him a pos please? Sorry dude!

Ratloop are working an improved version of Hardboiled Chicken for Vita, releasing early next year.

I wasn't entirely sold on the trial of the PS3 version — although the presentation is excellent — but I'm hopeful the improvements they're making to the handheld version might sway me; it reminds me a bit of Flashback, albeit with more poultry. Anyway, here's a fluff video as everyone will skip over this post unless I embed one:

That's great. I've had the PS3 demo for ages, but it never quite got my to pull the trigger on a purchase. I shall be plucking this up though!
