My 3G one annoys me, because it forever displays 'NO SIM' in the top corner.

You can store previously downloaded games on your PC, Mac or PS3 by the way.

But yeah, 32GB or nothing.

Absolutely this. I bought a 16GB card with mine in the first place, so when that filled up I figured I'd get another 16GB card rather than go all out on a 32GB card. After all, it's not exactly hard just swapping cards over, right?

Wrong. It's a pain in the fucking arse. The machine has to be totally shut down before you swap the cards around, then has to spend a couple of minutes rebuilding the database when you power it back on and it detects the new card present. And it has to do this everytime. Not just the first time you use the card, every time.

So yeah, 32GB card or nothing really.

I caved in and bought BOD. The campaign is behind the times so I went for some MP only to be told I have "insufficient NAT". Google tells me I'm not alone. Does this mean I have to keep changing my BT Home Hub settings when going from PS3 to Vita? If so, balls to bothering with Sony and their PSN and their Vita.

This happens alot between my PS3, Vita and 360 so I setup some basic port forwarding rules on my Virgin hub and gave all 3 of them static IPs. Not sure what kind of access you get to the Home Hub for setting things up though.

Edit seems you can

Also heres the ports for PSN and Live

It might take a little time but well worth it rather than sticking stuff in the DMZ and its easier than it sounds if you just take your time.

Thanks I'll give that a go when I'm calm and collected and ready to accept potential frustration and repeated attempts.

I've not bothered with a 32gb. I have all of my 'most played/to be played' stuff on the 16gb in the Vita, and back up the rest to my PC/PS3 and transfer if I fancy playing something else. Just a thought if you want to save some pennies Brad!

Will likely do that, will need to be good and save for a 16gb version though, rather than cave for an 8gb.

Seems like the big Vita heavy hitters are all a tad disappointing, then; Little Big Planet Karting, AC Liberation, Need for Speed...Ragnarok odyssey is also scoring erratically. Guacamelee looks like fun - a metroidvania game from the guys who did Mutant Blobs.

As pointed out you are slightly miss informed, however you do highlight Vita's biggest problem right now. The game press are generally very negative against Vita games often comparing them to PS3/360 versions. I guess this is due to the reviewers doing their reviews sat at a desk in an office where the big consoles are just there in front of them.

Need For Speed is a case in point with a metacritic of 77% which is total lunacy in my opinion. If this game was on iOS or 3DS it would have praise heaped upon it and be touted as the best handheld racing game ever made. Right now it looks like an 'also ran'. Having played many hours I'd say it's a strong 80-90% up there with Gravity Rush (which is still my GotY).

This is somewhat Sony's own doing by selling the Vita as a big console games machine that fits in your pocket, but I still think games reviewers are being a bit narrow minded.

Also, for some odd reason, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward isn't coming to Europe with an English dub, but the American version has one. Instead, we get Japanese dub and English subtitles. That's a bit bloody odd, but you can always import it as I do believe its region free - speaking of, where would be the best place to import this from? VG+? Looks great and after all the good things I heard about 999, I'm looking forward to trying it out and I reckon it'd be the perfect game to get stuck into when I'm stuck in a hotel, but would definitely prefer English VO.

No English Dub in Europe! This sounds like win to me thanks for the heads up, for a game with no DLC I may have considered importing. I'lll have to check out youtube and see how bad the dub 'really' is (not heard good things though)

or

1) stick one ip in the DMZ

2) Set all your console devices to use that ip

3) Done

obviously is a problem if you use more than one device at same time ... but if you are the only games playerin house that uses online you are golden

I've heard the English dub is very good. I would certainly prefer it personally as in my old age I find it much harder to follow the plot and recognise characters when everyone is speaking Japanese (as seen with my playthroughs of corpse party - I could never remember who was who. I hate to sound massively racist as I assure I'm not, but I found that all the female cast sounded the same. So I found it difficult to figure out who was saying what).

Anyways, I bought Little Big Planet vita yesterday and almost immeditately regretted it; I haven't finished 1 or 2 on my ps3 and, although I quite enjoy them (I have no issues with the 'floaty' controls) and I find I get very bored of them very quickly. This is not a slight on the games themselves, just my level of engagement with them. But I fancied a new game to spend the last of my trade in points on and there wasn't really a lot to choose from.

It's got 79% on Vita and 83% on 360.That doesn't seem like an entirely unfair difference given that it is a marginally worse version. It's certainly not indicative of some great conspiracy to rob Vita games of the scores they truly deserve.

Weird I checked again and it says 77 (although that's just splitting hairs). What I was trying to say (badly as usual) was that people tend to regard a 7 as a fail and an 8 as a success.

I would say that, other than the genuine unsolicited opinions of 'real' people like those on this very forum, metacritic is probably the most accurate representation of a game's quality in that it features an aggregated score based on a variety of 'professional' reviews (which are admittedly subject to bribery and arse kissing) as well as user reviews (which are obviously subject to trolling).

You might as well say 'don't pay attention to reviews at all' and, whilst there may be some merit in that, it is a decent way to see whether or not the game is any good and whether you are likely to enjoy it. Obviously the system isn't perfect, but it's the best we have!
