Liberation bug? Gah, think I'll start with NFS until an AC: L patch is released. Lost six hours of AC: Revelations thanks to a similar bug so not exactly thrilled at the prospect of the same. More fool me, I suppose.

Was also tempted by Fifa 13 (don't have last year's version). For anyone who has 13, does it play a decent game of football?

All reports say it is a roster update of last years - probably should just pick it up cheap.

I have it and its quite good but has legacy defending and a slightly dodgy frame rate at times. Everyone quits out online at the first glimpse of defeat.

Cool, thanks. Basically longing for a decent sports game after spending hours on Virtua Tennis 4 and Everybody's Golf. Wish Madden had turned out better than reviews suggest.

NBA Jam or some such could be great on Vita. MOAR SPORTS!

FIFA13 is a roster update and nothing more for FIFA Football that came out at launch - it's identical in every other respect. I'm not a football game expert, but I really, really like it. It's essentially based on the FIFA 11 (I think) engine, so if you're a hardcore football fan you'll probably be able to pick holes in it, but I think the rear touch for shooting and even the touchscreen passing transform the game into something significantly different than the home console versions and possibly better in some respects. It's great to just dip into now and again - it's certainly not a shitty port and something to be avoided like the plague.

Just got the Platinum Trophy in WRC3. Didn't take that long - 5 or 6 hours? Enjoyed it. Core driving experience in the game is brilliant, but there isn't much around that and it's a bit content light, but if you like rally games then it's a bit of a no brainer.

No. It probably never will be either, sadly.

So basically it costs less to copy it, package it, ship it and give a percentage to the store selling it than it does to store it digitally and upload it to someone's machine.

I don't know about you but I'm kinda baffled on that one.

I'm not baffled in the slightest. None of the platform holders have talked about reducing the price that we pay and I really don't expect them to. I think they're content to let us think that traditional retailers are too important to piss off while they just sit back and take the increased margin. And it sucks.

Bit disappointed with Assassin's Creed... think it looks lovely and I've not noticed the framerate stutters that so many reviews picked up on, but the actual game itself is just a bit dull. Climbing and running around the city is still fun, but the missions are fairly tedious so far, even worse sometimes it makes you take on a 'lady persona' where you dress up like high society and can't use any climbing skills, ended up doing a mission involving following someone then going to point A then to point B then to point C and it really was incredibly boring.

I'm in the Bayou now which I can't wait to get out of. I don't want to be riding around in canoes that handle like tanks or swimming through dreary waters or lame QTE with alligators. Just give me a city, a bunch of side quests or targets, and let me have some fun. Game also doesn't quite adequately explain a lot of things (like I can buy watches from smugglers, but I have no idea what the watches do. Or that collectibles will only show up on the map if you've scanned the area in eagle vision, and so on)- it feels like I'm hours and hours into a long hand-holding tutorial that doesn't want to actually tell me much.

Still no idea what the watches do, even after googling them which just brought up other people wondering what they did. They say 'quest items' when you go to buy them, but beyond that they're an expensive mystery.

It also looks like arseholes.

I'm desperate for a sort of action adventure like this on the Vita though, so I'm willing to put up with the flaws! They just don't hold my attention when I'm playing them on the big TV.

It is turning out to be the handheld console with slightly shitty versions of home console games though.

I can see that a lot of you havent added me on psn so that you can see my nfs times and shit. I can only put this down to one of two reasons. Perhaps you dont have the game and I understand that. Perhaps however you DO have the game but are massively shit and cant take that sense of failure. Day in, day out. It will ruin you enjoyment of the game, literally.

Those are the two reasons.

Its time for you to man the fuck up. Add jamcunn.

That's a shame if that turns out to be the Vita's destiny. There are so many games I'd rather play on the Vita than on PSN/XBLA - games like Fez, Mark of the NInja, Cave Story or Dead Light for example. I'd rather have loads of games like that than Major Franchise : Watered Down.

There isn't all that much the Vita needs apart from more gamers wanting one.

Most genres are well covered for a format in its first year.

LBP and Sony Smash Bros or whatever it's called have the potential to be system sellers but Sony has never managed to market the former to the masses and presumably the same will be true of the latter as well.

LBP sold 5million, the series is at over 9million. Now granted, they could be higher, but it's hardly unsold to the masses. The followups just aren't different enough to motivate a lot of people.

Is A Creed not that good then? Shame as I was really looking forward to it, even moreso now that AC3 is a bit on the naff side.

Yeah, it's just... not that great. I'm six hours or so in, and it's just a bit boring. I've been forced back into wearing the 'Lady persona' in the game so currently all the missions involve walking / jogging everywhere as she can't climb buildings and jump. Which was a great design choice, for a game where the most enjoyable thing is the free running and climbing. Yeah, let's remove that. And you know what people really want? Missions that involve walking across the whole city, pressing a button, and watching a dull cut-scene. So let's have more of them too. It's frustrating because the times when it has let me loose on the city, as an assassin, without restriction, has been a lot of fun. But it's only been a tiny portion of the game.

Yeah, it's just generally a bit rubbish isn't it?

I've had a couple of random deaths. One after standing on a trough like thing in the slave encampment early on. Climbed on it (was just walking near it and she decided to hop up onto it) and it catapulted me about 60ft into the air, and I fell to my obvious death. It happened again after my curiousity got the better of me.

It's quite buggy when you stand near people working when trying to blend in. Graphics glitching out and I got stuck a few times. It's not clear what you need to press to walk away and sometimes nothing seems to work, so you're stuck there sweeping away.

And I agree that the 'Lady' stuff is a dreadful addition. I was doing an early mission, and it took me ages to find what I was meant to find, not being able to jump/climb...I thought I was doing something wrong and walked back to change into the assassin, thinking I was being dumb and I'd chosen the wrong costume, to find that they were all blanked out. So I had to totter all the way back again to continue my rather dull quest.

If I'd wanted Slowly Walking Around In A Big Dress 3, I'm sure there's some Japanese fetish game out there that would be better suited.

Frustratingly, I think the fighting in this feels slightly better than the 360 version. Which would be fine if they let you fucking do it. :(
