Games that demand a remake

Only post if you have a reason why :D

For me, it has to be Theme park (looked in retro and saw someone here is doing a spectrum version which got me thinking).

Theme park world...it never happened ok.

Theme park on the pc was great, i remember it on bad influence where they showed the workmen eating lunch.

then my friend got it, and id often go round there, ignong him, just to play it.

The rides were perfect, the way you created the paths and added shops, oh so simple, and the graphics are perfect, really bright and colourful and bouncy and clean. The way smoke would form and the rides noise would change, seeing what people were happy with and sad about with the thught bubbles, creating your own roller coaster, even if the speed settings could do with tweaking so they didnt always just speed up.

The way you could either play in a sand box with money and rides or go the whole hog and order drinks and ice cream, dabble in the stock market etc. There was so much too it, it really is a game that needs to be remade, If it has to be 3D it needs to be clean looking and work in the same way as the 2D version. But i just loved making the perfect theme park, balloon stall at the front, with simple rides near it, rollercoaster in the middle, burgers with lot of fat and drinks with lots of ice so people bought more drinks, due to the extreamly salty chips placed next to it.

Brilliant

Feud.

Full 3D FPS with lots of battling wizards, having to run around collecting herbs and get back to your cauldron would be top fun. It could be done as a mod for Q4 or UT2k4 or something maybe.

Frankly I'd be happy with a 2 player networked version of the original.

Pickfords.. you listening? :D

Following on from my recent re-disovering of Goldeneye, I know just what I'd like to see re-made, and I think you all do too (and yes, I know how completely impossible it is, so no point in saying anything about that :D).

It wouldn't have to be much - just improved graphics; frame rate, draw distance, polygon count, and improved enemy AI. Maybe some new old-Bond-inspired levels like the Aztec level from the original, and some new weapons/tweaking of old weapons. Yea, that would be ace.

Timesplitters 2 didn't quite do it for me in the same way Goldeneye did, and I love a cool narrative to follow.

H.E.R.O.

Has the potential to become an uber-atmospheric platformgame with great flying physics. The idea of a hero with a helipack has never been bettered. Imagine descending with you helipack into the deepest caverns and caves to save people, while energy is running out slowly and any light you hit breaks down, forcing you to navigate through the dark... Fly carefully through small openings, avoid lava and watch out for enemies...

I vote for Sensible Trainspotting.

Great Amiga game that could really do with a graphical overhaul, they wouldn't need to bother changing the gameplay as that was just fine...

Now if only someone would listen to my idea.

This post actually made me laugh out loud.

But I digress. My votes go to FFVII and Rescue on Fractalus. The aliens popping up at the window of my spaceship literally made me shit myself.

Turrican 1 & 2.

Speedball 2.

The Chaos Engine.

Heimdall.

Pinball Fantasies.

Wizball.

Atomino.

Some of those games have got proper remakes in the works, but no news has come up about them in ages, being Heimdall, Speedball and Chaos Engine

Why do you want an update of Pinball Fantasies? It was 2D and as high res as todays consoles, if you played the AGA version. Try Flipnic on the PS2

I want to play it on one of my current consoles, rather than having to find all the cables for my Amiga.

Flipnic's not out yet (PAL), is it?

Elite 2. What a cracking game. Why don't people just copy it?

Chaos, chaos, chaos. Go on.

Feud.Agree with this, I'd been spouting for a remake for years. I didn't even realise JP was the man behind this till recently. How rubbish am I?

Wonderboy 3: Dragons Trap. Why wasn't this series continued? This game was THE reason to own a Master System.

Boxing Manager (spectrum). Can't remember what this was actually called, but it was totally ace. It was text commentary of fights, a la champ man, with a picture of your boxers face which could get bruised or cut up.

A game like this would be great ;)

Colony (spectrum again). I dearly loved this game, and believe a remake would be ace. People like cute little robots who run about too, look at Glitch :D

With the Harvest Moon style overtones, and a monetary system, add multiple planets/colonies, and the game would be ace. And it would look beautiful. I can but dream.

Carrier Command. How great was this game? A remake for the modern generation would seriously kick bum. I could see this on my Xbox without any problems...and perhaps an Online mode too.

Magic Carpet. Yes please. :D

Mystical Ninja - SNES. Great game, loved the subgames in it, and the comedy storyline.

That'll do for now.

Another X-Wing game. Does that count as a remake ? I dunno. Still, I'm gonna say it anyway.

Imagine one of those brilliant Star Wars games like X-wing (yeah, they really did exist at one time), but driven by the power of gigahertz performance processors and lightspeed graphics cards. Now, imagine all that power available to create immense space battles, fantastic visual effects, and a realistic Star Wars atmosphere......and not a Gungan in sight ?

Imagine the good old days when Star Wars games were better than fucking abysmal. Look, just concentrate....OK ?

Yeah, that's it.

Now start sending e-mails to Georgy Porgy, telling him that we want some real Star Wars games again, not the Bantha fodder that we've been force fed for the past five years. Oh, and while you're at it......tell him not to screw up Episode III.

there is a PS2 Goemon (Mystical Ninja) game in Japan. unfortunately it's a bit poo.

as for Wonderboy, yes, the Dragon's Trap was the best game on the Master System by a country mile. however, it wasn't a Wonderboy game - the Wonderboy and Monster World series were both released in the west as 'Wonderboy' games, bizarrely, after Monster World developers West One bought the name. IIRC, WB3 is Monster World II. there is/was a (failed, obviously) online petition for a DC update. I've no idea what the members of West One are up to now.

This is the most inspired thing I've read all day. Kudos sir.

Then play it on the Amiga emulator for the Xbox :D

It will be out in January, a lot sooner than there will be a remake of Pinball Fantasies.
