Over 50%? Are you sure?

Ok I embellished a little as I hadn't actually done the alchemy loop trick at that point :( I've got them up to 46 now though - the loop didn't give me as big a boost as I'd hoped!! I take it 50% is the highest then? I also had a weird bug where my slightly weaker enchant potions were giving higher state boosts. Very strange. I've made my penultimate set of armour now though, and will stick with it til I hit Max alchemy. Got fat HP and stamina regeneration, plus nearly 200% archery bonus :D

Some sad things happened though. The lady with the alchemy ring, who I went to the trouble of pickpocketing and making a replacement died in a double dragon attack in Dawnstar. She was the only npc die :(

Also, I killed a hagraven I found while out harvesting mammoths souls for enchanting, and inadvertently completed the drinking contest quest, it seems, :(

This might help scottcr My link

thanks....

I've done everything right... met the wife, want to go and find the amulet but I get no quest marker and when I get to the Halls of the Dead, there's nothing there.

Annoying. Thankfully it's not a main quest. If I encounter a main quest bug that breaks the game I'll give up.

I've been playing this for about 8 hours now and have a question - you know the depressing city with the hall of kings in it (I'm not very good with remembering the names)? I was doing the side quest to find the jack-the-ripper-a-like and

realised it was the man in the curiosity museum. I went into his house and pickpocketed him and got the key to the chest and read the butchers book that confirmed this, but then got spotted after reading it. When the guard turned up I didn't want to lose the book so chose the option of "I'd rather die" and thought I'd bump him off and carry on. Except now I can't set foot back in that city or do any of the quests without being attacked.

Is there anyway of paying off my bounty now, or have I fucked it up?

Sometime when i'm creeping through dungeons i come across a 'magic circle' on the floor that damages me when i walk over it (kind like a mine) Is there any way to 'diffuse' these? So far my only tactic is to take the damage (sometimes half my health!) then wait for an hour for my health to refill. :(

The only way I know of is to hit the magic rune with a spell to set it off.

Or you could Whirlwind Sprint through it to avoid setting off alarms.

You can walk round most of them...

I was able to walk right over one with a ward up. Not tried again as you can usually get around them, so it may have been a dud. I can check again tonight.

Wait an hour? do you not have restoration magic you can use?

So last night I spent the evening in Whiterun putting in a shift at the furnace making me piles of iron daggers to get my smithing up to 60 so I could enhance enchanted items. Took me about an hour of depleting the stock of raw materials at the store there (the one with the man and the woman) which involves it seems waiting 48 hours for them to restock each time. However hundreds of daggers later I got the there and was able to put my perk in that slot. It has paid some nice dividends already though as my chosen weapons have been improved considerably, and I was able to upgrade my thieves guild armour so it actually offered better protection than the glass stuff I had been sporting previously! I just need to find the materials to be able to upgrade my glass stuff. I think I seem to be upgrading everything to exquisite just now, I assume that is tied into the figure between 1 and 100 you have in smithing and not any other factor or perk?

So yeah, my character just took another leap in the bad ass stakes. Was a bit of a grind but I am glad I took the time out to do it. Also levelled me up a couple of times in the process, so currently I am level 33 and just shy of 70 hours on the clock. Outside online gaming that is easily the biggest commitment I have ever put into a game.

Wait an hour????? What about using the heal spell or a health potion instead. That would save you, oooh.... 59 minutes and 55 seconds at least ;). The other thing with those hexed circles is to not walk through them at all.... or get your side kick to for you... or attract an enemy through it instead :)

I either just avoid them or give it the old “FLAME ON” to trigger them.

Shame the sneak perk that stops you triggering traps doesn’t work on them as well. That perk is awesome for sneaky archer types who want to back peddle through the dungeon when being pursued by rushing enemies, they then trigger every trap you didn’t even know existed, killing themselves in the process.

I think he means wait an hour using the back button.

My partner has confiscated my disc now. I've not kicked up a fuss as I imagine that's the reaction she expects.. She also saw my in full Daedric armour the other day and just shook her head.

I'mm at level 60 and afraid to see how many hours I've burned.

Yeah, but even still seems like a cack handed way to go about things.

The most disgusting bit about that sentence is obviously the bit in bold, not the amount of hours you've played ;)

Just tested the ward theory. It didn't work. Blasting it with the flames spell that you start with did though.

So I had a look at the smithing exploit thing last night and it seems like you're all just breaking the game to fire up the levels. It's not really in the spirit of immersion is it? I also now realise that having weapons with crazy damage stats is only going to make the game far too easy and where's the fun in that?

I'll just stick to muddling my way through, learning as I go and revisiting the difficult dungeons once my level's up a bit.

I've already ploughed 70 hours into it and I'm still only a level 23, but now I've got a decent follower and the Sanguine Rose I'm feeling a lot more confident I'm doing things for the best.

1.4 coming soon: bit.ly/zux1cz

*edit* apologies for non clickable URL, on my phone.

'Fixed issue where Galmar would not complete Joining the Stormcloaks properly if “Season Unending” was an active quest' :) :) :)

Could finally be able to crack on with the main quest then

I've generally been OK with huge bugs but I've just hit two really annoying ones toward the end, after spending AGESin Blackreath doing the quest in there, I can't finish the pissing thing off. Or I can but I've got to collect 20 Jazbay grapes as well as all the dicking about I did in Blackreath

Also, I can't buy a house in Markarth because the old steward is a bloody knob.
