Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I've got a weird one where a lot of my miscellaneous side quests are pointing to the Lovers Stone over in the west when I click show on map.

I've been there But there doesn't seem to be anything to do or anyone to meet.

Is it a bug or am I just being stupid and missing something obvious?

Could be that the quest location arrow is in or near Markarth, and the map doesn't scroll far enough - I've had this.

I've got over 40k in gold now (excluding the chest at home full of endless gems, items etc) so pay for most gigs is usually meaningless once you get to a certain point!

I've noticed bar a mammoth falling out of the sky and Aela refusing to cook for me anymore, I've not had any noticable bugs 80 hours in  . Maybe because I'm still on the launch day patch and I haven't been online since with the latest patches which might break more things than they fix.

Had fun last night. I decided I might try going it alone for a while so I told Lydia to go home while we were at an imperial camp. As soon as I did this all the guards kicked off "You shouldn't be here citizen". After much grumbling / threatening one of the guards attacked Lydia, who I've recently put in Dragon Plate armour, he was quickly dispatched. She then legs it back into the camp and kills another one, thankfully she stopped at that and sauntered off into the woods, leaving a few guards still grumbling.

I went back home and asked her to follow me :D

You'll pay for that with your life.

That's what I like about he guards in this. They may mock you with "what's the matter? Somebody stole your sweet roll?", but they're still prepared to fight to the death over somebody committing such an act. True dedication.

I've been continuing my 'jack of all trades, master of none'-approach by picking up the craft of smithing and enchanting next to doing various quests in the guilds/faction line. Currently at 3K, and my inventory has been largely stocked away so I can carry lots of stuff again. Time to go back to the exit areas of the last 2 dungeons I did and pick up all the good stuff I had to leave behind because I couldn't carry it at the time. Should put some more money in the bank, hopefully tonight I can proclaim that I own my own home.

Well despite saying I'd give this game a rest for a while, I haven't been able to and, instead, I've been having a cracking time.

I did the drinking competition with some guy in an inn in Windhelm and blanked out (as usual for me) and suddenly woke up in Markarth... which wasn't wise as there was a big bounty on my head there and I was immediately thrown in jail and, choosing to serve my time, lost a really good stolen weapon in the process. Nothing like a good night out in Windhelm :).

Then I finally finished a fairly epic quest (Forgotten Legends or something) where you end up having to clear 4 dungeons in all - the last dungeon finished with a long drawn out and decidedly touch and go fight and, although I won through and got me a nice little amulet for my troubles, unfortunately Janessa my sidekick perished.... which was handy as I needed some dark elf blood for another quest :)

I'm getting quite near the end of this and I don't really want to spoil anyone's future enjoyment but I've not found a quest anywhere near as novel and a bit different as the 'night to remember' side quest. Far too many of the other ones just involve a fetch quest in comparison to the weirdness and fun of that one.

Unfortunately, I also did that mission after only playing for about 3 hours, so everything since has seemed a bit too much like a 'traditional' RPG quest.

Have you done "A Daedra's best friend" quest? Thats one of the better ones.

By the name, I'm imagining it's the

Barabas (or whatever his name is) the dog

one?

Which was quite good, admittedly, but essentially didn't seem to entail much more than go to shrine, go to dungeon for an item, go back to shrine. With little of novelty along the way - unlike having a benny hill style chase from a giant down a mountain after I got a goat to follow me, which moved slower than the giant, meaning I had to loop round a few times so the goat could catch up with me and hide behind a rock in sneak mode so the giant couldn't find me.

I may be not doing 'a Daedra's best friend' much credit though as dialogue etc within it was good.

Where is everyones favourite town? Mine is solitude atm though i haven't done alot in the others and haven't been to riften yet. I just like the layout and as such, have set up home there.

I like Whiterun cos it looks the most interesting and it is quite compact. Markarth is pretty neat but everyone there is a bit of a cunt.

Whiterun, I've rarely visited any other towns extensively only for brief visits.

In Whiterun your house in next to the blacksmith & the shops & inn are just up the road.

I've done too much hoarding, my house in whiterun has:

Ground Floor

In the Alchemy nook - chest full of ingredients above the bookshelf

On the back wall - a cupboard full of shitty potions

In the main room by the fire - container I use to either keep all my companion's gear if I send her home, or all my gear if I need to go smithing in my underpants

1st floor

Lydia's Room

Misc shit (jewels, dragon bits, other shite I picked up by mistake) in her bedside table

Drawers full of scrolls

1st floor landing:

Chest full of smithing stuff

Chest full of filled Soul gems

My Bedroom (where Lydia sets reading a book, silently hating me)

Chest full of armour, weapons, rings etc

Bedside table full of dragon priest masks

Other bedside table full of bounty notes and stuff of that nature (I was originally just dropping tyhese on the floor but I started getting slowdown)

all of the containers will overencumber me if I empty them, but the weapon one is a total disgrace, easily 10k of weight in that fucker.

I am mightily impressed with your tidy house. It makes organising your attache case in RE4 very small beer :)

Dude. You're going to do this  upon reading this spoiler:

Did you not notice the satchel which is right on your alchemy table?!?

Ditto on the back wall cupboard though. I tried selling all my potions but I'd rather spend time adventuring. I HATE IT wghen I accidentally TAKE ALL though :'(

Hey, I just found some er..awesome..armour too:
