So want to play this, but I only have £30 of Amazon vouchers to use and it's going for 48 on there at the moment! Tried to put Oblivion on last night, but as I've seen most of the world it didn't have the same feelings I want.

Gave up WoW last year, so am really missing my roaming about, exploring, doing shit and making shit game :(

88 hours play time for me and I have to say I've loved every minute of it. The main quest glitch though that I've hit with Ulfric means that I'm going to give the game a rest until hopefully its patched. Here's to another 88 hours.... when its fixed.

By the way I'm playing on the PS3 and I haven't thus far experienced any of the lag and slowdown apparently caused by huuuge save files. My latest save is around the 8.8mb mark I think, thats with 88 hours play and about 80 or so locations discovered

Life is certainly cheap in Skyrim. My stats show that I've killed 785 people, but only 37 count as murders. Obviously all those forts full of bandits I've wiped out -without any of the occupants even knowing I was there until the final split second of their lives when I yanked their head back to slice their throats - counted as defending myself with reasonable force. And people accuse the British police of manipulating the crime figures...

I was half way though the quest "Waking Nightmare" and the lag was horrific, I went down to about 0.5 FPS. Luckily, it was at a point where I could save with no enemies around. A quick reload and it solved itself. Thus far though, no real lag at all on the 360. I've played around 8 hours over the last two days and it's blissful still. I felt a bit of a traitor this morning though as

I sided with Ulfric and led a seige of Whiterun and ousted the Jarl... he'd given me my first break in Skyrim so felt quite guilty that my quest decisions earlier had led to this.

I do feel there's a lot of moral choices in this game and, just like in real life, when you make a choice, it's not always in every one's best interests - there's no good and evil in this game and that's why I like it.

Got to my first glitch :(

At the very end of the "Waking Nightmares" quest.

Got to the end, decided to kill the wizard as I thought what he'd done was reprehensible and he deserved to feel the cool hard steel of my mace... I laid waste to him and the completed quest text comes up but I cannot activate A to operate the pedestal. I whacked it with my mace and then I didn't even get the button prompt.

The quest is where Dragonstone residents are having nightmares and going mad.

I can't see this as a known glitch but I'm doing nothing wrong at all - I looked for known glitches on the Skyrim wiki and read the walkthrough so I'm certain it's an actual glitch.

Luckily, the quest was really short and I did manage to bag a heap of healing potions and a tonne of ingredients for alchemy but it's still bloody frustrating.

I got married earlier to some bird I had a fight with in the pub  she's called Uthgerd and she's lovely. She is ginger but then again, I'm an elf

Goddammit! Got into a fight with Draugr Deathlord who could take me in about three hits whilst I did ridiculously little damage to him. At one point I pulled out the Wobbajack staff in frustration, it turned him into a chicken, then he respawned and did that shout that disarms you and off it flew. I managed to eventually win the fight by just kiting him around the area while I threw fireballs and then waited fit my mana to regenerate, rinse and repeat for ages. Then when he eventually went down instead of leaving a corpse the fucker just disappeared (I assume a bug) and to add insult to injury I searched the area high and low and couldn't find the Wobbajack anywhere and eventually gave up. :(

I crafted my 'endgame' set of stuff, made a 2h axe just to mix it up. Full on Daedric set enchanted up the ass. Upped the difficulty by one, seems at least a little bit dangerous now. One dragon priest was quite tough and I needed to use a couple if potions. Have been doing the CSI Windhelm and Afflicted quests for those that know them. Very fun.

Kitted Lydia head to toe in Legendary double enchanted Ebony plus a sword and shield. She's quite tough!

Was gonna creaky ask something about this. Can you kill people silently? Like sneak up and slit their throats so you don't have the who fort/cave on you at once. Do you need a certain weapon to do it?

This game has finally sunk its teeth into me and won't let go. Enjoying it now after really struggling to get into it..l wasn't helped by me playing Zelda at the same time. Now this is the only thing I have othe boil...

So doing the companions quest line and I have to go up near the top of the map and get to some burial ground or tomb thing. I climb up a hill and can see it away in the distance... It's fucking miles away... Oh, but there's a lighthouse. Let's go see what's going on in there... Aha! A quest... That took me a while and was worthwhile... Then, I head out again, but whats that? A dog running towards me and barking? Where'd he come from? aha! A ruin...oh... It's one of these dwarven places I've heard of, lets go check it out... Seems to have been a bit of an expedition that went to shite recently, wonder what the reason is for that. Explore a bit down there and some mechanical bastards appear and twat the shit out of me... So, I decide I'm not ready for there and head up the mountain, mainly to see if there's a nice view at the top... Argh! A dragon. I'm all exposed with no backup or companion. Fuck it, I'm a dragonbastard - come ahead. Much fire breathing, sword swinging, healing and arrows later - its dead before me. It's also, inexplicably, got some epic loot in its belly which I plunder. Off back up my mountain and I see some steps... Have a wee look and it's a place where I learn a new shout. Nice one. off again, I can still see that place I need to meet the companions away in the distance but I decide to just explore a bit more. Oh look! A big statue, let's go and have a look. Speak to a lady at the statue and I've got a new major quest to embark on. Happy days... But do I head to winterhorn or go and meet my mates? I'll decide on the way...

But there's a cave... 'Sightless Pit' - sounds ominous. Let's check it out. Oh dear, I can't turn back now - just need to keep going, OH DEAR am I out of my depth in here. So, I become a werewolf and run like fuck - twatting anything that gets in my way. I make it out, only just and decide to get on with my companions...

Now I can cure my lycanthropy, I'm in two minds. It certainly came in handy a few times!

It's about noise and vision.

Noise: All daggers and bows are silent. Certain items and perks will muffle you.

The Dark Brotherhood is helpful with this

With less than 100% muffle, the weight of your armour will effect how much noise you make as you move around.

Vision: Don't kill anyone in front of anyone else. Retreating into the shadows/using invisibility if people come to investigate. As far as I've seen, there is no chance of 100% Camo in this game like in Oblivion (can someone confirm this?) so any invisibility breaks upon making a kill.

As of this moment in time I pronounce myself King Of All Noobs in this thread. I got Skyrim from Lovefilm yesterday. I did all the settings for my character, went with a female and decided to lower the difficulty so I could have her running around in third person in her underwear. That's what everyone does, right?

Anyway, so far I've found a settlement, accidentally killed a dog while trying to work out the controls, killed a load of people who were upset that I killed the dog and now everyone hates me and I'm running from all kinds of men who want to abuse me in my bra and panties. Something tells me I'm going about this all the wrong way but it's still a pretty good experience.

No but seriously, am I going to have to restart?

Might be best. Or head to town and go to jail. That early on it shouldn't make much difference.

I hit a bug on the Imperial Quest line which has encouraged me to give it up and plough on with the main quest. It was after helping defeat a garrison somewhere and I'm supposed to speak to someone in a camp. I find her ins tactical tent and has the arrow over her head and everythiing but there is no chat tree that progresses it. Tried reloads and stuff but no luck.

I've got a weird one where a lot of my miscellaneous side quests are pointing to the Lovers Stone over in the west when I click show on map.

I've been there But there doesn't seem to be anything to do or anyone to meet.

Is it a bug or am I just being stupid and missing something obvious?

I'm currently playing the Dark Brotherhood, Companions, Thief's Guild and the Mage College quests at the same time. I wonder how long I can keep that up before one falling apart and/or getting to some dead end. I also seem to meet a lot of dragons lately, but so far I've ignored them as I can't really carry any dragon bones and scales anymore and I don't know what to do with the ones I have; I can't use them for any crafts (yet?) and I don't have a place to store them as I don't have a house yet. And I don't want to sell them.

I had a gang of thugs attack me the other day, Maximus the dual wielding maniac made short work of them. I found a contract on one of them stating to give me a kicking or worse for something I've stolen?? Written by some guy called Bor.

The stats claim I've stolen one item. My only recollection was accidentally picking up and putting back a pick axe in an orc mine??

Ah yes, I only got my room today but didn't notice a chest or anything :)

I want to buy a house and I'm saving up, but I've only got 2,000 and I need 5,000.

Clear out a few bandit camps and sell the high-priced loot.

Go hunting and do some leatherworking/smithing and sell the produced items.

That should get you to 5000 in no time at all!
