Further spoiler for master illusion level spells

The quest to get them is awful though- you have to find 4 books somewhere in the university whilst constantly casting a spell to make them visible. Incredibly tedious. To help, they can be found in the hall of countenance, the hall of attainment, the midden (1st part), and the library (forgotten the name).

I got sick of Lydia living under my roof so I sacrificed her.

I find it weird she spends more time in my bedroom than my wife (Aela) does. And still the bitch won't sleep with me... Not that I'd know, I haven't slept in weeks. I'm a

werewolf.

I can't believe there's any other game out there where, 60 hours in, I'm still discovering new ways to play, never mind still be nowhere near completing the main quest, most side quests, and haven't even been near 3 of the cities.

I used to attack dungeons traditionally- switching between bows and fireballs depending upon resistances, but then I got the master illusion spells. The quest to get thhem is the worst in the game, but afterwards they change everything. Currently I stroll into a dungeon and cast Hysteria, following the unlucky draugr or mortals, occasionally taking pot shots as they cower in a corner, until a bunch of them are in a room together. Then Mayhem, as I stand back and watch the destruction, and then the winner wins death at my hands. Of course, sometimes you just can't be bothered to kill everyone in sight, in which case Harmony is the perfect time saver. The best thing is they work on Draugr Deathlords, which is just funny.

Oh, and yesterday, just before I took on a Forsworn fort, a dragon swooped in and took them on for me. Incredible scenes.

Sounds really fun - I've got quite a boring character - 2 handed heavy armour dude. The only magic I use is restoration magic, but at least I'm quite fast - managed to get rid of the weight of my armour through that perk.

I'm on the pc and constantly struggling with the interface. I've realised a problem whereby I'm often not selecting what I think I'm selecting. The weird greyed outness of already read topics and the problem where the mouse hover seems to stop working it seems I've not been selecting what I thought..I only discovered it when it I was forced in to doing quests a certain why, the outcomes being the opposite of what I wanted to play. I realise now I'd chosen the "evil" option without knowing :(

Still loving the game though

I tried keyboard + mouse initially, then Logitech G13 + mouse, then Xbox pad. The Xbox pad was the best IMO so I'd recommend that if you have the setup available.

Does anybody read the books to be found throughout this game? There's a lot of rubbish in there, but there is the odd gem. For example, "An Explorer's Guide to Skyrim" mentions "Stones of Fate" and gives you four locations. I've visited one of these but unsure what they do. Can anybody assist?

Does it refer to the Standing Stones? If so then you can activate them to enhance your abilities. Only one Stone can be active at a time but you can switch whenever you want. I normally use the Lord Stone personally, which is east of Morthal.

Just had my first lockup, after 60+ hours (on the 360) - on the main quest where i have to...

gather up all the different blood types to open the dwarf tardis thing. went deep underground to find some Falmers...

and returning to the surface it crashed. Fuck it. That'll be it for a while - i'm back to work on Monday so i won't have the time to do all this shit again.

I think I might have hit a weird bug where when I go to lock pick something and the pick snaps it kicks me out of the sequence and I have to try again. This changes the weak point of the lock, so I end up going round in circles (literally) trying to find the new weak spot.

It's not helping that I'm on a quest at te moment to steal some jewellery from some dude at the market in Riften.

Has anyone had this and know of a way to fix it?

Is there a way to carry as much items as you like via levelling up within a certain 'school'? Tired of trecking back and forth to my chest at home whenever i, for example, kill a dragon and pick up its bones/scales.

I realise i could probably use a cheat.....but thats cheating :D

So i have this random quest that i don't quite remember getting, about a drinking contest with a local in whiterun. Okay, i have half an hour to kill before going out let's, drink this sucker under the table.

So i find the guy, we have 2 beers and he gives in, easy, and there's some rod or other as a presents for beating him. Excellent.

Except it all goes blank and the next thing I'm in some church or other with some angry looking lass talking about throwing rubbish all over the floor. Panic, before we get to any talking doll face i need to check i still have all by armor and weapons handy. I've spent a small fortune crafting these threads, and i'm going to be well pissed off if they're gone. But everything is okay so we chat.

Like all women since man discovered the joy of high alcoholic drinks, she is not happy about a few bits and bob that have been knocked over when my drinking buddy left me high and dry. Okay dear calm down I'll clear the place up. First i have to find all the bits that aren't on the floor on purpose and don't get me an earful for trying to steal things. After much hunting i find a note about following the long departed friend on some quest or other. Well all right lets get out of here. I pick a few locks for the joy of it, almost get a beating from some ugly looking old women and jump out of front door expecting to run to beezhome and dump the goodies I've "borrowed",

But instead of the joy of Whiterun, the wide sweeping plains and distance mountains ..... the door opens and there's is a dirty great water fall and great big mountain in front of me !

I stopped for 5 minutes just looking around routed to the spot ..... We're not in Kansas anymore Dorothy.

I won't spoil the surprise... But i utterly love this game

Was checking something today on Skyrim wiki and came across a possible solution to your problem. Could you go to Markarth and join the stormcloaks through the Jarl there and then proceed with the main quest?

This didn't help unfortunately but I enjoyed Markarth..... and left it in a hell of a mess when I high tailed out :)

That's a fun quest, I did it the other night. I think it's called "A night to remember"

Oh yeah, it's great. I love the end of it. Really good fun.

Has anyone got a solution to my lock picking glitch then? I take it nobody else has encountered it yet and I can't find anything on google about it. :(

It's not a glitch, it happens when you Try to pick a lock while someone is watching. Go into sneak mode and check that you're sneaking successfully without anyone seeing you and it won't happen anymore. Assuming you're doing that task for Brynjolf when you first arrive? That's when it happened to me.

Adding points to stamina increases your carrying capacity slowly, there's a perk in the pickpocket tree which increases it by 100 and a standing stone blessing (the steed stone) which adds another 100 and makes your equipped armour weightless. There's also the fortify carry weight enchantment and temporary potions with the same effect.

Ah right. How am I supposed to do that without anyone seeing then? The market place is well busy, even when Brynjolf causes his distraction.

As soon as Madesi leaves sneak behind his stand, and if you trigger the lockpick the second you're hidden you'll get as many attempts as you need. Sometimes a woman will stand next to you and stare, just talk to her and she'll run off, which makes the whole thing easier.
