Soooo....have I broken the main quest?

That Blades woman has told me to seek out the guy in the Riften slums. Pretty sure I know the one she was talking about, he has his own room down in the vault and only speaks through a slot on the door. Thing is, even after getting her advice on what to tell him, he still responds the same as before; 'go away' 'I know powerful people' etc. Am I going to need to load up an earlier save or is this actually the wrong man?

In brighter news, game now looks spiffing with the textures sorted out, and I was impressed before.

That's the right man, so it looks like a glitch - the question is will it right itself with a simple reload or will you have to rewind back to a position before you went down there the first time (if you even have this available).

I had the same problem. If your on PC you can extract VoicesExtra.bsa into your Data folder to sort it.

Can someone help with me the "Breaching Security" quest.

What's the best way to kill Gaius?

I know his schedule but there never seems to be a good time to kill him.

Is the bonus worth it or should I just murderize him when he's on the roads between cities?

Nice easy one that:

I walked up to him in the bannered mare in Whiterun, and said basically "I'm gonna murderize your face off". At which point he attacks you, and you kill him. No bounty, nobody else cares.

Now I seem to be trapped in a room with a vital event not triggering. There's a mage called Nerien who appeared, but remains busy. Happens every time I try to go through. I'm going to just start from a much earlier save and avoid this whole area/ quest. It seems to be fucking everything up.

Thought I had a bug today. Trapped inside the Thalmor embassy unable to unlock the trapdoor to escape. Went into a rage and killed every motherfucka in the place just in case there was an alternate way out. Quit in a huff, expecting to lose lots of hours of progress.

Looked the quest up on a guide on the internet and realised I'd missed a key on one of the guard'd bodies. Curses >.<

I'm trying to do the Thalmor embassy mission all stealthy, but there is one wizard guy standing right in the door way where I need to go and no matter what I do he spots me. I've tried the (level 3) distraction shout but he still just stands in the way. I only just unlocked that shout so maybe it is bugged on the 1.3 patch...?

I guess I could just murder everyone.

It's almost as thought Bethesda treat the initial run as a beta... Everyone pays full price for it and the bug reports come in... Then they release the patches and the proper v1 at a reduced price later.

Paying to be testers... Bethesda are evil geniuses!

I had exactly the same problem. Either find an invisibility spell, so just duke it out with him. Kill the guards on the floor below first, though.

I shot him in the knee with an arrow and then in the face.

Seriously two arrows did him for me, undiscovered. I've spent a lot on archery and sneak though.

Hey guys, I have a hypothetical question about the game: how stupid would I be, on a scale of 1 (not at all) to 100 (maxed, NG+), if I were to pop out to Tesco later on today and buy this on PS3 because it's significantly cheaper and would be more convenient to play on PS3, without first doing any research at all to see if Bethesda happen to have focused their traditional clutch of game-breaking bugs on that particular platform?

And now answer that question as if it were posed not hypothetically, but framing an event that actually happened a couple of hours ago.

Fuck.

It's less about game breaking bugs and more using what is more or less the same base engine that has given Ps3 owners a shit time since FO3. Bethesda don't put any effort into their PS3 versions because they are too busy "partnering" with Microsoft over DLC and marketing, while ps3 owners get treated as second class.

Compare to Platinum Games who changed their development policy in order to give a similar experience on both machines after the Bayonetta debacle.

I ran into the same issue, but that was with the launch day version; 1.1?

Given that he was stood still staring at a wall I assumed he hadn't spawned correctly and was supposed to be patrolling like the two downstairs, but restarting from an earlier save didn't fix it. I guess he's supposed to be an unavoidable obstacle.

i'm playing on PC and having a nightmare with it. keeps crashing every five minutes, variable frame rates, issues with flickering and stuttering despite fraps giving me a constant 60fps. batman aa on the other hand runs like butter with zero issues.

Reinstall directx from the skyrim folder.
