Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I have reached the point in the game where I have fairly decent magical gear and fairly decent archery gear. It is a ballache swapping all the time when I decide I want to switch between being a fire spewing cannon of doom and a silent but deadly assassin. I wish there were some kind of outfitter mod where I could just quickly switch between pre determined sets of gear.

That's my single most desired feature. I'm hoping someone's going to be able to create a mod to do that before too long.

I did it by:

just running past and ignoring the daedra and just kept hitting the wizard and chugging potions, once he's dead run right to the bottom and line of sight them until you get pulled back (which happens pretty quick after he's dead)

Ah yes but then you miss out on the

daedra hearts. I successfully cheesed it by Whirlwind Sprinting past them, smashing the wizard, then hiding, but I want those hearts, dammit!

edit: adding my voice to the clamour for an Outfitter mod to quick switch between gear sets. Also a Dressing Room style mod so you can see what gear looks like on your character would be kinda nice. I don't want to craft a full set of shit if it's going to make me look as dumb as I look in the Dark Brotherhood pyjamas.

That was one of the good features of Two Worlds II - 3 complete selections of armour, jewelry and weapons could be mapped to up, left and right on the dpad and the change could be made instantly anytime. Unfortunately they didn't indicate in the inventory which items were part of the two other non-equipped-at-the-time sets so it could be quite tricky sometimes when trying to remember which items not to sell. However it did allow some excellent melee / magic switch arounds.

I know I sound like a broken record at times but playing Skyrim reminds me a lot of TWII at times, particularly the large cave like dungeons.

Back to Skyrim and last night I decided I had had enough of the Solitude Housecarl who was pretty unemployed and just cluttered up the dining area eating all day, so I [daedric quest spoiler ahead]

lead her to the ritual sacrifice point and instructed her to be a good girl and turn on the nice glowing beacon for her fain

Playing this again after a wee break following the completion of the Mage quest line.

Climbed the steps and met the greybeards. Spent the last 3 sessions muffling up my illusion and starting the smithing perk tree to get the glass and dragon armour. I take it with 100% enchanting and the dual enchant perk you can create light dragon armour with better perks than the arch mage robes? You gotta have a dream.

Not sure where to go next. Maybe the imperial or storm cloak route. Hmmmmm.

Whats so good about the hearts?

It doesnt matter too much if you miss them. You can get three hearts from doing the quest, but you can buy two at a time from a NPC in Winterhold every couple of days (and you can just wait or sleep for 48 hours to reset the cooldown)

If anyone feels any kind of Skyrim-lethargy setting in, leave it a few days. Watch some TV. Play something else. Make dinner for your missus. I just had an enforced break from it and I'm as hyped to play it later tonight as I was on release day! :)

Also is anyone doing what I'm doing and leaving certain areas of the map spare for their 2nd playthrough? I've decided that, quests leading there aside, I'm not going to visit Markarth/the other two cities in the North West (I don't even know their names such has been my lack of exploration up there!), especially when I've got enough quests stacking up as it is!

More quest fuck ups. Wylandriah has asked for her 3 items and the missus has one of them in her inventory when she asked her (because she's a sneaky, thieving swine) but although she tells her where the 3 items are it's not triggered the quests in her log. Can anyone shed some light on this or is it proper fucked now?

I haven't been to Dawnstar or Falkreath yet, and I haven't really done much around Riften or Windhelm. My next character will explore those places, and their respective holds.

I have a question about the empire though. (Spoilered for those spoiler nuts out there. I don't really think its much of a spoiler)

Does anyone else think it a bit odd that the Empire stronghold is Solitude, and not Falkreath or Riften? I haven't finished the civil war quest line yet, I'm about half way through (I think) on the Imperial side right now. But wouldn't it make more sense for the imperial stronghold to be in the south, closer to Cyrodil? Have I missed something in the lore somewhere?

Same thing happened to me. Just find all 3 items and the quest update will trigger, allowing you to hand them in.

Having some real problems with crashing on my 360... 80 hours in and Level 33, but now my game doesn't run for more than about 10 minutes before freezing and I have to manually restart my xbox. :(

I've had the same over the past few days but on ps3. I'm at a similar level to you.

I've not had any dragons flying backwards (yet) but my game is starting to freeze when I talk to certain NPCs. If I talk to one of the Orc Stronghold chiefs, it freezes; if I talk to the bard in Windhelm it freezes, and now some trying to enter some shops freezes the game. :( This is on the 360. Hoping if I leave it for a few days, the new patch might fix it...

I have only had 1 freeze that required a system restart so far after 95 hours (on a fairly new 360), but what I have experienced consistently is that there are more short freezes (like 1-2 seconds) and a bit more framerate issues in general than in the beginning.

Does clearing your cache remove the patch? I'm still on 1.1 and don't want to update to 1.2.

More quests have lead to death of the people of Markarth. I'm almost tempted just to kill everyone to see what happens.

Are people like the Jarl and their housecarl invincible in this? I've not tried anything on with anyone 'big' in a random manner like that.

And that's not all! Look:

Bethesda is also planning to roll out support for 4GB Tuning (Large Address Aware) next week for PC users.

Great news, I set the game aside for a bit to quickly power through Revelations until they fixed the broken patch, but I think I'll wait an extra week and maybe squeeze Batman in before the LAA fix hits :omg:
