i think the top scores come with decent reactions and understanding the table. In real life, I stink the joint up at pinball, except for the ST:TNG one we had in the Uni halls bar. I caned that machine, knew every feature, learnt how the ball would bounce off a particular obstacle etc etc. I was consistently right at the top of the scores list. I think it just comes with familiarity.

A combination of luck, understanding a table, persistence and getting into the zone. I owned a real pinball table for about a year (a Sega GoldenEye, good fun) and during one night I put some huge monsterscores on it that I was unable to break for ages, until I got into another streak of brilliance, etc. In the end I had to play sessions close to an hour to even have a chance of hitting the top 3.

I sold it.

Jeez stefcha couldn't you have stopped at 45 or 50 mill on Pasha to give us mere mortals a chance - I think you may be top for a while with 118 million !!!!!!!

I got multiballs a fair few times from getting all the compasses and it kept throwing 5-10 millions at me! It was something like hit all the compass loops, then hit the one at the bottom right that lights up (and maybe then hit the oasis hole), gives some multiball to hide treasure just by randomly thrashing about hitting loops.

Yeah that sounds about right - if they're decent enough (ie not xtreme levels of turd) I'll happily bung down the 400 - that only leaves two spaces for more (new) tables though - I hope they're going to add more than that.

Had a good go on Earth Defence last night, no idea what to do but it seemed like a cracking table with loops and features all over the place. At least as good as the new tables, well worth it.

Well from looking at the forums it seems we have 2 incoming Mars and Paranormal and they also seem to be developing a Marvel comics pinball game - no word on if that's standalone or FX2 but it would make sense to make it DLC for this.

Just sent friands requests out to the following:

Stefcha, Shogun, Squeaky, Corleth, Bradigor, Geldra and Yoshimax yet only a few of 'em are showing as pending on Xbox.com?? Guess I'll leave it a little while before trying again but if anyone wants to add me in the mean time then feel free to do so :).

I bought all the remaining tables for this last night (the new ones, which look gorgeous), but rather than flitting between over a dozen tables, I really want to nail just one table's ass to the wall.

Which one table is best for totally learning and getting a really good score on. I did have a lot of fun with Haunted Mansion and Excalibur.

Also, the Superscore is totally genius way of getting people to buy every table. But Zen deserve it.

Really, what's the limit? I googled it earlier and only saw posts saying it was 100 (is this right?) yet I've got around 50?!?

Yeah, full friends lists and even if there's a friend pending it clogs up the list it seems (I think I've got one I didn't get round to accepting earlier, probably from here?). I'll have another clearout, already had a couple just for this! Problem is I'm now finally getting to the point where I know all the hundred and most are relevant to highscore stuff I'm still into so it's getting a bit tricky.

Rocky & Bullwinkle is ridiculously easy to score big on - something like after making 25 loops you get 5 million just for doing a big loop combo, which is fairly easy - but doesn't have much going on overall so it can get a bit boring if you're on it for ages. I'd say Pasha is one of the easiest to learn, has a lot to do that isn't too tricky (although the storybook modes are hard to do well on once you access them) and you can score mental on it with some of the multiball features.

i took personal offence at my Buccaneer score being bested so pumped in a high new effort. Apart from that I couldn't really get going last night. I got a 30M score with my first ball playing SFII and was sure I'd beat my best of 37M but then fell apart and scored 2M too short. Was gutted!

I can't add DuffyMa to my friends list. I've had a message with a friend request for days, but whether I accept or decline, nothing happens. I can't delete it from my inbox either.

Probably something to do with it being sent during the update to the new dash.

I'll delete it and try again now....

Every time a new friend pops up, my score moves deeper down my table.

Edit : Just checked, and you are on my list. Sorry if I've borked your inbox :(

Was that me?

The messages really rub it in. After stefcha beat me SFII score I promptly turned the xbox off, went upstairs and registered a high score on my childrens £9.99 Spongebob Squarepants table. He can't take that from me.

Added :)

I really wish they would increase the friend cap, it's now to the point where everyone on my list has a purpose. I might not play online with all of them but the ones I don't all have a purpose for competing on various games leaderboards.

If only Microsoft would look at something similar to Steam Groups. Allow everyone to join a 'RLLMUK' group and then give us the option to view group leaderboards within games.
