That's just trapped wind ;)

I need to get EDF as well I suppose... Haven't been playing this much recently but I was playing it with my friends and it made me realise how much pinball I've played over the years, they were just hitting the ball about and all thought it was surprising and a bit strange when I got multiball when I had a go...

I'm sure it could end up being quite boring viewing but it would be kinda interesting to be able to do a Trials style view of the best scores' replay, just so that you get a better idea of some of the little tricks and techniques people (stefcha) use.

I can feel a bit of a session of this coming on...

When I lose a ball on Rome it is always due to a failed right-hand waterway shot. The ball shoots straight back down between the flippers and I can't seem to find a reliable way of catching it.

Nudge the table as the ball is rolling back down the ramp, slightly altering it's trajectory?

Same here. Makes me a little bit afraid of trying a ramp shot on that one. I know about the concept of nudging, but the thought of nudging only occurs to me a fraction of a second after it is too late. It doesn't come as a natural part of gameplay to me.

And that's why I'm a 5 to 10 million player on most of the tables, I guess...

Total bollocks, I've never once used a nudge on Rome. Hold a flipper up full and it will almost always clip it onto the other, not 100% but it certainly works 19/20 times at the very least I'd say - better odds than guessing a nudge, which can easily fuck up a saveable one. For the right ramp hold right, left hold left (unless it's obviously heading one way or the other, there's usually more than enough time to spot that).

edit: also, it's easy to hit both ramps from either trigger full on, to avoid the problem. besides aiming for the opposite one, just hold the ball in the trigger then let it drop a couple of millimeters and flick up - straight through the ramp on the same side as the trigger.

One thing I only just spotted on Rome was the skill shot. I may be being dense, but on a full shot you have a chance of hitting off the top left flipper into Zeus' head which rotates (is it Zeus?). Not hit it yet so no idea what it gives, but I've had an extra ball off it in other situations. Also, hitting it straight on starts a points timer which means hitting the left ramp, right ramp, then the left orbit for whatever points are left.

edit: skill shot is a million. for the other, hold the right trigger to hold the ball after release from zeus then hit the l ramp, r ramp, l orbit one after the next for decent points.

Pasha: If you complete the stories and get the magic lamp (by killing the snake - do a ramp/orbit then hit the snake hole within about 10 seconds after the ramp, three times), you get 50 MILLION! Thing is, I could swear I didn't complete all the Book of Secrets events. I did the Magic Carpet (which needs a carpet completion then hitting the cave after opening it hitting the loop just below the palace twice) and the princess-in-the-tower magnets thing but the only guards thing I completed wasn't off a book challenge, just something I did by hitting the palace in general.

Damn, what with trying to finish Mass Effect 2 and other stuff in the evenings I've barely had the chance to knuckle down on the original tables let alone think about those Marvel ones, but they look rather good.

Dear internet, I'm trying to save money, please stop giving us desirable stuff.

Whilst I'm not about to bother the better players here, I'm spending the afternoon playing this and my scores are steadily rising. Concentrating on Secrets Of The Deep, going beyond spamming the ball about and really going for stuff. I've said it before but this game really does repay those who put the time in. Superb.
