Looks good to me. Any game that allows you to immerse yourself in a Mad max world (or any 80's video rip-offs) is an instant cult classic for me. Much like the VHS videos of the day.

I like the exploration world rewards element too.

I'm still a little concerned about slowdown and pop-in (two things which you can't judge with compressed YouTube vids), which has stopped me pre-ordering this for around £30.

The gravel/rock pop-in you see, appearing just in front of the bumper as you drive, doesn't bother me too much. But as these are wide open, desolate areas, it's going to be like a slap to the face if a building suddenly materialises on the horizon.

It does look marvellous from gameplay so far, though.

Or WB wanting to get as many preorders in again before releasing a car crash.

Certainly their mindset but I don't think it's the case here, at least not for the console versions. Unless something unexpectedly changes between preview build and release version, it all looks pretty solid.

It all looked pretty solid for Arkham Knight too and look what happened.

Technically 3 times - Mortal Kombat X on PC was another technical mess but they got away with that as Steam hadn't implemented refunds. So 2 big releases in 2015 and so far both are farmed out 3rd party shitshows on PC.

Ah, sort of stands to reason they'd already done it.

Personally, I think they're going to take more care after the rude awakening of Steam refunds. Of course whether that'll materialise as half assed 'will this do?' care or 'we'll try harder' care remains to be seen. Plus, not to be forgotten that the console versions of Arkham Knight were good.

'And when they came for the P.C gamers, I did not speak out because...'
