Joel Lynch? Really? Easily one of the worst players I've seen in a Forest shirt for a long time, and there have been a fair few.

I said the same thing. But after bertrand went back, lynch played lb for abit and actually played quite well. Then konchesky came in and he was out again.

I cant quite get my head around billys comments though. He says we dont need loan players, and our squad will be better after the break as the moose, lynch and tyson will be back.

The moose yeah, though it will take hime a while to get fit and going. But tysons been playing whilst we've been gash, and lynch...well....hes going to at best be on the bench (till konchesky goes back).

Seems really like we are relying on 1 player in the moose to completely turn things around, and this break- that every other team is having aswell.

Don't knock Lynchinho - remember he was an ever-present during our amazing run to second place back in.. well, it seems like years ago now. He's obviously some kind of lucky talisman, regardless of not being able to kick the ball straight or stop giving away penalties. Can't wait for him to get back.

I've decided to just relax and try to enjoy the rest of the season now, it's clear that crazy run was a fluke and we're now back in and around the position we've been most of the season, scrapping for a playoff place. Obviously I won't get too excited if we do make them as we're complete and utter shite at playoffs!

Aidy Boothroyd fired? check.

A fan of the club leaving his position in dismay at how the club's being run? check.

Ray Ranson about to quit as chairman after already being convinced to stay on two different occasions? check.

The owners making a bewildering statement that they're in for the long haul, but won't invest further while we're making losses? check.

What have I missed? Ah yeah, it turns out that we've also been under transfer embargo without it being revealed to us.

Still, the new kit's apparently quite nice.

Hahaha- lynch is a sort of comedy legend.

I admire your plan- I wish I could. I cant help getting sucked back in, and usually depressed but also sometimes overjoyed.

Leeds away on saturday lunch time, live on the bbc. Have a feeling we'll get stuffed, but at the same time if we come back fresh and full of confidence and attack we can win comfortably.

We wont though, mcgoldrick will play and do his usual trick of appearing to be a defender.

The one thing I am looking forward to is the introduction of findley.

It all seems to have gone to shit for coventry- thier chairmans quit and sky sports were reporting they could be about to enter administration. Yoinks.

Another CCFC run by dodgy ****ers. I think we owe Ranson money which is under investigation with the FA!!

Afraid to say that I'm glad about the transfer embargo as it was apparantly the reason that we didn't get King.

It's the final push then?! Let's get some predictions in on how the top six and bottom three will look like at the end of the season:

Top Six

1 QPR

2 Norwich

--------

3 Swansea

4 Cardiff

5 Reading

6 Watford

Bottom 3

22 Crystal Palace

23 Scunthorpe

24 Preston

I was going to do a prediction post earlier - 8 games must be the trigger.

Anyhoo

QPR

Norwich

Swansea

Leeds

Reading

Cardiff

Preston, Scunthorpe and Palace to go down

Reading overcome Leeds and we beat the Jacks - it means nothig as we screw up yet again and lose to Reading in the final 4-0

Yeah, was a tricky one. I'd obviously much rather see Sheffield United get relegated, but I think they're squad is decent enough to put together a good enough run to escape the bottom 3.

I went to see Derby beat Sheffield United a month ago and I genuinely wished I hadn't gone. Derby were utterly, utterly, utterly abysmal. And they won. That's how bad Sheffield United are. Palace to survive instead.

I've no idea where we will finish. We have been amazing against Leeds and forest and then proceeded to lose against scunthorpe and draw with Watford. We will no doubt lose against Preston on saturday and then follow that up with a win against Norwich. I can't cope with the play offs, if its a Swansea v Cardiff play of final I am camping down deepest darkest Gower on my own with no access to the outside world. If we lost, I'd stay there.

Be careful - if it is Cardiff vs Swansea then they might play the game in a secret location and it could be deepest darkest gower in the middle of the night.

Do you want Craig Bellamy outside your tent???

Let's refer to it as "the game that must not be named" from now on - <puking with anxiety smiley>

I like how the whole Championship supporter base shares in the idea that Nottingham Forest are going to balls it all up.

It can't be surprising though can it? Your form of late doesn't scream play-offs. Unless there is a complete 180 then you're going to slip out of the top six. I've dropped Leeds out of my prediction too. Any Leeds fan will tell you how poorly they perform as a team right at the end of a season.

I've got a feeling that these last 8 games are going to see the top six flip flop and it's only the form teams that are going to make it.

Its a good thing. Less pressure, and expectation!

Personally

1.QPR

2.Swansea

--------------

3.Norwich

4.Leeds

5.Burnley

6.Hull

--------------

This is true. To be fair though, during that time, they were playing a game every 2.5 days (3 games a week) on average for over 6 weeks, with a squad of 16 players. Losing several key players like the moose who was pretty much owning the midfield during our good run to injury, and no cover in any position.

Billy couldnt rotate the team, so most of our first team (including the likes of 33 yr old mckenna) were completing 90 mins every game with no one to come in for them. They have looked exhausted.

Now they've had a complete 2 week break, and players like the moose, tyson, lynch (cover) to return, and konchesky hopefully returning to full fitness, and findley making his debut- forests form should improve at least a little.

Whether it will be enough to make the play offs, I have my doubts looking at the run in though.

Well, thats the last time I attempt to display any mild optimism.

Brilliantly, forest have come through the 2 week break with yet more injuries. Mckenna is now out as is konchesky. Add to that lynch, our reserve player, is also struggling with injury and christ on a bike earnshaw is still a doubt- we are actually screwed.

Well thats been a lovely break.

So without mckenna and moussi to play in midfield, we dont have a single holding midfielder, or anyone with defensive capabilities.

So tomorrow our midfield is likely to be (if billy sticks to his usual routine of 4-5-1 away) - Mccleary/tyson, mcgugan, majewski, cohen, Anderson.

The most capable defensively is ando, a winger!

Fuck my life, as the kids say

I was optimistic on the way to work this morning, now its evaporated. Our injury crisis was bad enough at swansea-leeds are going to destroy us.

I heard its based on the studio design for tv's gladiators.

Its the way, our injury list doesnt contain that many players- that gets me. We've only lost a handful of players but because our squad size is so so tiny- its devastating.

We only lost the moose earlier in the season, and it all went to crap.

They have to address this in the summer, but I reckon we'll be here next season saying the same thing.

Well, quite. All over them as well. As pointed out by the commentary team it was the Leeds players and bench having a hissyfit that put a bit of pressure on the referee to do something.

Bah. And I've injured my foot kicking a stool. SATURDAY RUINED.
