So, how is everyone progressing on Destiny 2? I'm up to power level 243 having pretty much lone wolf my way the campaign and loads of other stuff. Quite keen to get a set time each week to get some of the tough stuff done like raids, strikes, etc. so let me know if anyone is reasonably well levelled up and fancies it :)

 

Playing with a Hunter and gonna set up a Titan alt this weekend so have an option but will be playing this for a looooong time!

I have 3 characters all around the 100-150 mark so level 12ish for all of them I think? ^_^

 

I'm just strolling, haven't been on for a few days though, been extremely busy :(

I'm up to about 210. Grouped up with @sjvinnie a couple of times for random public events and patrols and that's been really fun.

 

Would be great to team up some more for strikes and whatnot.

 

I've also just joined a clan that @Baring and @Steely are in and would recommend you all do the same. It's worth it for the regular clan rewards at the least!

I'm in too. Only a level 8 - gonna really focus on getting that up to a respectable number over the next couple of evenings - but always up for running round a Public Event mopping up the little fellas while you all take on the big boss...

 

...Wait a sec.

 

I'll be clearing up the Dregs.

 

Is... is that why they're called Dregs?

Some are called Dregs Pants, yes. A squad of 3 or 4 can still pose a problem though. They seem to love getting into melee range and then staring at you puzzled when the slap they just gave you done nothing but piss you off, haha.

 

Few good runs in a team set-up and the level will fly up. Campaign stuff will get you to 20 no bother but there is always so much stuff needing done. Public Events are a good quick XP provider so jump into them any chance you get.

It's not easy leveling up beyond 265, once you complete the campaign you'll have a number of blue icons on the map of each planet, leave them until you hit 265. Those quest lines drop good legendary & exotics and they tend to drop at + 10 maybe even 15 of your current light level, this in turn raises the level of things that drop for you. 

 

The only other surefire way to constantly push your level higher beyond 265 is to get luminous engrams. These can be obtained every week by completing the nightfall, the raid etc. You can see them and what you need to-do to obtain them when you press L2 on the map. If you're part of a clan you can get an additional 4 luminous per week if your clan achieves certain goals as a clan. 

 

Lastly, public events  have a reasonable rate of dropping exotic engrams which will be > than your current level.

Yeah, thought that too Pants. What are luminous engrams? I've only seen bright, purple (Legendary) or yellow / gold (Exotic) ones.

Idea about levelling up, engrams and all the other shit. Shooting stuff is fun though and managed to get up to level 20 with about 216 power as a titan.

Probably a couple of hours a night since launch. 

 

Luminous start becoming obtainable when you hit level 20, their linked to challenges which reset every week. There essentially purple engrams with a guarantee to be higher than your current level. 

 

It's really not the most elegant leveling system, but if you want to do nightfalls and the raid they require light at 260 +

 

In simple steps 

 

1. Complete Main Quest 

2. Hit Level 20

3. Grind public events until you hit 265 + & Complete weekly challenges 

4. Complete Additional quests unlocked after campaign (blue icons on Mini Maps)

 

I'll be doing some public event grinding tonight if you any of you fancy it just jump into my game

Yes. I will pick up Battlefront 2 in November because Star Wars but I know Destiny is the one I am going to be playing over and over for a long long time!

Sky Q. Anyone using the service? Good value for money?

 

Virgin have jacked up their prices by another £4 and according to the email I got, I’m now within my rights to cancel the package.

 

They have zero 4K content, and I don’t even have multi-screen with them and it’s still £111 a month!

SkyQ is brilliant, I wouldn't upgrade to it just for 4K, but it's definitely a big improvement, not only do you have 4K, but the Q box supports Dolby Atmos, Football in 4K with Atmos is pretty amazing.

 

However, I cant do anything in terms of discounts for existing customers mate beyond giving you a code for a free upgrade to SkyQ - but that doesn't include the 2TB box which you need for 4K, you're better off negotiating a deal with the retentions team.
