REPLAY

I pirated Pedro for the Spectrum. You can't blame me for the downfall of Imagine for that. In fact, i should've been charging Imagine for the purchase of a blank C15 tape fron John Menzies to copy it on.

Yes, Pedro was terrible.

Jumping Jack was fairly playable. Alchemist and Arcadia weren't exactly terrible either, but everything else released by Imagine before 1985 was actually quite terrible.

All the quality releases by Imagine, was after they'd been bought by Ocean.

I am not a gamer but I think you do the output injustice. Especially these two classics:

Does this event tend to sell out? I haven't bought a ticket yet is the reason I was asking. Still waiting on answers from a couple of others as to whether they still would like to come. Also is it worth going for the weekend? I had planned on going with one mate, however he's skint and would largely leech off me which I want to avoid so i'm asking my cousin instead if he wants to come.

I had a look at your vid Lo', and it seems quite impressive. So this year they are planning on opening a second hall then? I take it there will be pinball tables too judging from ean earlier comment in this thread. It's been so long since I played on one of those. Are you there for the weekend as well?

Hmmmm....

Zzoom:

Due to a bug in the score calculation for refugees, should the player not allow any (or very few) refugees to survive a stage he will be rewarded with a bonus far in excess of what would be scored had the refugees been saved.

Stonkers:

The game was plagued with bugs and early versions crashed after a few minutes of play.

I think the only half-decent Imagine games were Alchemist and Jumping Jack. Each to their own, I suppose :)

Yep there will be plenty of pinball tables, arcade cabs, consoles etc you name it. Not to mention all the other talks that will be going on. I'll be there as I'm helping out on a stall and selling copies of the mag for my site :D Just keep an eye out for the guy in the NES-Bit t-shirt!

I thought I wasn't going to be able to go, with a mate deciding not to bother. Anyway, my missus said she would come down. As long as we booked a really nice hotel. So I did. But she will be left at the hotel for the day. Locked away.

So what's the recommendations for the two days? I was thinking about just going on the Saturday. I'm quite looking forward to it now!

Hey Bruce, you may get a lot of stick on here but I'm looking forward to hearing your talk.

And Zzoom was a great game, although I thought Jumping Jack was better- it's still worth a play even now. That crunching sound as poor jack hit his head.... However Alchemist and Pedro were terrible. Thankfully I only bought Alchemist second hand from a mate for 50p and I copied Pedro from my cousin.

Molar Maul was also a great game, however I had that on a compilation "Master Tape" called "Imagine's Greatest Hits" along with Cosmic Cruiser, BC Bill, Wizadore and Bandersnatch. It was made up for me by a guy who worked with my dad. Happy times. I have a feeling I contributed to Imagine's demise. Along with John Gibson's Porsche.
