Loving the Streetpass thing! Luckily I'm in an office of nerds so I get about 8 hits a day. Already at the exit of the Gloomy Grotto in the Quest and not too far off finishing my Zelda panel in the puzzle mode. I'm really looking forward to seeing what other Streetpass features people add to their games.

Boo hiss. It would appear not one nerd walks past my home office in Ramsbottom as I've had my 3DS sat near the window for the last three days and have no hits. I should literally get out more.

Just got a USB charge cable for my DSi and realised it works for the 3DS, bonus. I thought they used different power cables.

Yeah, they work. Just a word of warning, though: USB doesn't seem to charge fast enough to keep the power on if you're playing it at the same time.

I've fully charged mine while it was sleeping, though. It takes aaaages. Stick with the power adapter/cradle whenever you can.

Going home via Leeds train station has scored me a few hits. I get far too excited when I see that I have a Streetpass notification.

I tried Face Raiders last night, and wasn't quite prepared for how brilliant it is. Got a friend's birthday celebrations coming up this weekend, so I wil be gathering many many faces for it.

If you run through the street pass setup again in the Mii Plaza it says it'll only keep running while some games are playing. I don't know how you know which games allow for this.

I would suspect it wouldn't work while you we playing online or multiplayer.

I was given a 3DS yesterday, which is nice. I've only got Monkey Ball which seems way too easy from the first world I've played.

I played on one last week and wasn't particularly impressed so didn't intend on buying one, but after playing with it for a while now I'm more impressed with the AR stuff than anything else. It's very well implemented.

I can't say I'm interested in any of the others games out at the minute though.

Sorry for not keeping up, but is it possible to play Pro Evo side on, but with a 3D effect, or does the 3D only work in the 'free-cam' setting? Taaaaa.

Works in all settings. Obviously it's a little less pronounced using the Vertical Wide camera but the effect is still there.

Although when it goes to a cut scene they really pop due to the 3dness!

Question for the technical types. Why does the battery take so long to recharge, my iPad appears to charge much quicker, the 3DS appears to have an almost 1:1 ratio of drain to charge.

A 1/3C charge rate would be a safe rate to use, higher charging rates result in more heat build up, leading to potentially reduced lifetime, plus the charger would have to be more expensive, to safely cope with the higher current. I usually use 1/3C or lower charging rates.

The iPad charger would do the 3DS battery in about 40 minutes, but that would be at an excessive charge rate :)

So, took a stroll around Oxford today. Went into the Westgate Centre, past GAME. No Streetpass hits. Went along the high street, past HMV. No Streetpass hits. Went into the public toilets in Gloucester Green... two Streetpass hits.

Yup, believe it continues on in the background no matter what you're doing :).

Probably not when you're playing a DS game though. It says in the manual that you can easily activate/deactivate the Wireless via the right side switch when playing 3DS software, but it must activated beforehand if you want to use Wireless in an original DS game. I would think that means that none of the 3DS' advanced features (Streetpass, Spotpass, Pedometer) can be active while in the "Legacy" DS mode.

OK, cheers. I think I'm likely to be getting a 3DS next month or so, but I don't see much out at the minute besides a couple of old faves, Pro Ev and Street Fighter. Then the following month I'll be buying Starfox, RE Mercenaries and OoT. The future is here!

Streetpass is disabled while playing SF4 single player it looks like. If you hit the home button you can see it's on 'local network' mode rather than 'streetpass' due to its function to allow 'A NEW CHALLENGER' style entry.

If you shut the 3DS with SF4 still running, it appears to re-activate Streetpass which is useful.

DS games really look terrible on this, the blur is terrible, and the 1:1 start/select mode is unplayable due to how tiny it makes the games look. Play DS stuff on DS's, I figure.

Getting tired of the gloss, also. Screen gets smudged by the 2-line thing, really missing the matte. Even the XL did gloss better, the inside wasn't gloss.

On the plus side, turning down lighting (4, at the moment)did indeed help the 3D for me. Still ended up turning it off for ridge racer though, sudden blur on a corner and then the whole race is ruined.

Also: How to wear hats you get from Mii Plaza? Went to Mii Creator but didn't see an option for it.

EDIT: Interesting it records what DS titles you've played as well in the Activity app. What happens if you fill all 16 pages though, starts to forget the oldest?

EDIT 2: Go play Mario 64 DS, it is now 'amaze' with the circle pad.

Are you using "streetpass hits" in some kind of euphemistic manner here? :eyebrows:

It's really not - it's exactly the same as before, only now you use an analogue stick to get digital movement.

Better then a d-pad and no DS's came with the thumb pad after the original was kind of the point.

(I suppose you could have gotten the arkanoid analogue stick about...two years ago now, or made your own like some seem to have on youtube)
