anyone noticed very faint vertical lines on the top screen where the raised surrounding of the bottom screen has been touching it when closed? They rub away but it's a bit worrying.

Yes, I've noticed this too.

Those rubber nubs either side of the top screen could do with being slightly thicker, to prevent the 3DS lid closing as much as it does.

Picked up SSFIV today - very good. 3D on this is excellent.

I can play it with the slider all the way up. On Pilotwings it's about 2/3rds and Ridge Racer about 1/2 to 2/3rds. I find myself having to change it mid play with ridge racer quite often.

I find myself having it set to full on Ghost Recon, but about half way with Ridge and Pilotwings. It definitely isn't a case of 'put it to full and get used to it', because it almost makes me go crosseyed if I set Pilotwings to full 3D.

Has this been posted already? sorry if thats the case.

Dates for several Nintendo 3DS titles have been revealed, according to a report.

A distributor associated with Nintendo of Spain has provided a three-month release schedule for the handheld, according to Go Nintendo.

Included are May release dates for Resident Evil: The Mercenaries, Kid Icarus: Uprising and Starfox 64 3DS, and elsewhere, a June 17 release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.

The Nintendo 3DS released alongside 15 launch games, including first-party titles Nintendogs + Cats, Pilotwings Resort and Capcom's Super Street Fighter IV 3D.

The reported line-up in full:

Rabbids 3D (01/04)

Puzzle Bobble Universe (22/04)

James Noir's Hollywood Crimes (06/05)

Driver Renegade (06/05)

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries (06/05)

Kid Icarus: Uprising (06/05)

Starfox 64 (06/05)

Dead Or Alive: Dimensions (27/05)

Sports Island (03/06)

What a day the 6/5 will be for 3DS owners. Possibly better than launch day.

I might buy a 3ds tommorrow but im not really fussed on the launch games (although i expect ill get ridge racer and pilotwings).

but yeah i really want starfox, and probably want resi and kid icuras as well! annoying they are all out on the same day.

Not that I'd buy it, but wasn't Dead or Alive being touted as a Day One release right up until Day One? Wonder why it got pushed back.

Scared of Street Fighter? Ironic really because it's arguably going to play better due to it being a four button fighter anyway. I'm certainly looking forward to it.

Street Fighter has a much better presence in the popular domain; how is DOA being (potentially) better to play "ironic"?

Tecmo delayed it because of the recent earthquake if I remember correctly. Also glad to see Kid Icarus coming out pretty soon if that list is accurate. Bit worrying that Steel Diver still doesnt have a date for Europe and Japan yet, wonder if Nintendo are going to scrap those releases?

I doubt that either Star Fox or Kid Icarus will be about before Zelda in June. We're seen very little of either title for them to be launching in just over a month. Review copies would have to be going to the print guys any day now in order to make the deadline. Plus I'm expecting both of those titles to be showcased at E3 in June.

Summery then: Left bollock says list is bollocks.

I watched a rolling demo of starfox at the Nintendo event in Glasgow... based on my experience with the 3DS so far... as long as they make some changes that allow for level select and cut-scene skipping... Starfox is going to be *wonderful*

This was bothering me more than it should, so I cut a piece of lens-cleaning cloth (the stuff you get with glasses) to fit an area the size of the top screen and keep it sandwiched between the screens when closed. The cloth is very thin and it means I always have something to clean the screens with if they get a bit grubby.

3DS came out here today (31st) in New Zealand, and I picked one up (NZ$434 in case anyone's interested in the comparison, yes we get ripped off, but we are at the arse-end of the Pacific). Also got Ghost Recon.

Overall the console definitely feels like a version 1.0 Nintendo product. Technical it works, but the build quality leaves a bit to be desired, and you can instantly see where they can (and will) improve the layout/case/buttons etc. Things like the 3D slider, for example, are a bit flimsy and not too accurate. Other buttons seem to have been placed "where there was room", rather than where a design expert would put it.

Saying this, the thing is a bloody marvel and fulfils many of my childhood gaming technology fantasies, especially the AR. I've not played any other titles, but can thoroughly recommend Ghost Recon if "you like that sort of thing".

If Nintendo could/should have done anything for launch, it would have been to get on the phone to Mr and Mrs Google and hook up a deal for creating 3D movies on 3DS and uploading them to your YouTube account. Also, having a built-in YouTube 3D movie viewer. That would have been a killer app.

Something I'm a bit miffed about is the digital downloads I have from the DSi store on my DSi which I will need to give away with the device when I sell it :(

Edit: aha, OK, I understand that Nintendo will be bringing some way of copying your DSi titles to your 3DS in a future software update. I await this with interest ;)

If you can wait until the firmware update in May, you can transfer all your purchases from your DSi to your 3DS.

I thought they were releasing an update that let you transfer this sort of thing?
