A guy at work's Mii showed up again on Streetpass today with a custom message attached, and it offered me an option to put in a message of my own for next time. I didn't know that existed, it's pretty nice.

Dixons still have shops?

Also, Flying out of the UK? why does that make a difference?

They do in airports.

And, yes, the tax paid prices also apply to internal flights.

But I'm flying out of the UK so you'll need to excuse my selfish semantics.

Yes! I noticed this today! Was relived when it wiped off.

yeah, I just checked and mate's one and it is the same. More like a greasy mark than a scratch luckily. Will have to avoid touching the bevel bit I guess.

actually I'm bad for fingering the touchscreen, too used to my phone. I had it 2 days before I realised the stylus extended :D

The placement of the stylus is really awkward. On my DSLite I could whip it out & replace it with ease, but with the 3DS I have to turn the unit around to prise it loose. I also can't extend it with one hand, so I just have to remember to ready it before I start playing.

I can't turn my Mii into a QR code or save an image of him. It looks like it's working but then it says 'Unable to save' without any other options. Any ideas?

/EDIT/ Works now, no idea why...

SD card wasn't in properly?

Nintendo 3D ‘makes gamers dizzy & sick’

By JANE HAMILTON, Consumer Editor

Published: Today

HUNDREDS of furious gamers have slammed Nintendo's new 3DS console - for making them feel ill.

Fans besieged gadget websites and Twitter to complain of dizziness, headaches and sickness after playing the hand-held device for just a few minutes.

Some even reported seeing web pages in 3D after switching from the console to a PC.

It is the first console to allow users to see action in 3D without special glasses.

Separate images are flashed into each eye, tricking the brain into creating a sense of depth.

One Twitter user said: "The 3D gave me a headache, so I hated it."

Another tweeted: "Bumped into a friend and we played with a 3DS but it made both of us feel ill."

Japanese giant Nintendo launched the £189 gadget in Britain on Friday. Earlier problems forced them to issue a warning that it was not safe for kids aged under seven.

Spokesman Robert Saunders said: "When viewing any kind of 3D images some people might experience minor discomfort. The effects are short-term and have no lasting effect."

Nintendo said the 3D effect can be scaled back or turned off. It advised players to take a break every 30 minutes.

Gaming experts Maxconsole added: "While Nintendo issued a statement promptly, the statement ignored the fact that many users are experiencing headaches after just a few minutes of play. Therefore taking a break after periods of play will not help this issue."

I love how they've used Twitter though as a source... reliable as it is.

I think I'll go on and tweet some random stuff about products I don't like/want to succeed in the hope that a paper makes a story out of it.

Nintendo apparently have said they haven't had a single complaint to customer services about it.

3D with glasses gives some people a headache as well. Playing videogames generally gives some people a headache. Staring at a PC monitor, watching TV, reading, sleeping in a poorly ventilated room, being too hot, being too cold, loud music, bright lights or just generally being a moany little bitch can cause SOME people to have a HEADACHE in just MINUTES.. I'm not sure what the news is here? Are they saying it's dangerous, that it causes a disproportionately large number of people to feel ill? Looking for an excuse to print something about that thing people are talking about?

It's a real mystery.

I took my 3DS to work today, and everybody was very impressed with the 3D effect and especially the AR Games went down really well.

Same here, but I forgot the AR cards, so I showed them Face Raiders instead, which I've filled with spanish politicians. Instant success.

i haven't really played mine in 3D since the weekend. i flick it on every so often but then turn it off again after a couple of minutes. it's pretty fun to look at but, well hey, i'm playing a 2D fighting game so it's never going to be anything other than a novelty there.

also, all you streetpass users need to start getting creative with your miis. i have four dull looking blokes in my mii plaza. sub in a girl or a crazy mangled creation or something for a bit, brighten up someone's life!

I never switch the 3D off. I really like the added depth and find it draws me in the game further.

i guess i have been mostly using it on public transport and the constant bumping about doesn't lend itself well to the 3D effect's viewing angles. i really like it, don't get me wrong!

anyone noticed very faint vertical lines on the top screen where the raised surrounding of the bottom screen has been touching it when closed? They rub away but it's a bit worrying.

Yes. Thought my DS was knackered, something to do with the dual layer screens etc. Tried wiping the lines and felt quite relieved when they disappeared.
