Nintendo 3DS - first thread

The code TDXR-KLPN will get you any 3DS game for £9.90 (store delivery) at the moment from Tesco Direct.

However, there appears to be an important caveat. The code only seems to work if you've had a 3DS console order with them, and I'm too chicken to see if it works if you order console, order game, cancel console...

The code is multiple use allegedly, too.

Who's man enough to try?

We played some some download play yesterday of the racing and the monkey smashing game. It was quite fun, more fun than those modes in single player.

Yeah, I can imagine they would be quite fun if you had a few mates to play them with, but unfortunately for me I don't know anyone (other than forumites) who own a 3DS. Online is the only multiplayer option for me. :(

I was afraid of playing through challenge mode in super monkey ball too quickly. Part of me had hoped that there was going to be more to it than I was seeing, apparently not the case. :( One world a day then to try and make it last a bit longer.

You may well make it last longer than me, as there are still some Collectables I haven't found yet. Finding those should add at least a bit of replay value to challenge mode, and who knows, maybe (just maybe!) finding all of the collectables will open an expert world or something.

It's not multiple use, and plenty of us have already done it. Only works if you preordered the mispriced console they cancelled.

Hmm, I've got Street Fighter to collect on Monday for £9.90, I might see if they've got Ghost Recon in store and try to use the code again.

I take that part, back. I'm now reading that it's only single use.

(Edit- Thanks deKay.)

Added some more people from the past couple of pages to my friends too so keep adding me back please. You are one that I have entered MagicalDrop, you need to add my code from my sig in order for us to become friends.

Thank you, I've added everyone from the database now, saw me through the last boring 20 mins of the footbal!

Pretty fussy to be honest, useless during the AR games.

I've not found it too bad. I think angling the system is worse for the 3D than momentarily having the distance wrong.

I've just added my friend code to the database

Today I walked along a busy Princes Street, Edinburgh, into HMV and Game, and came out with 3 new Streetpass Miis. I got them to quest for me, and got a Mario hat before they all had to give in.

How "fussy" are people finding the 3D, I dunno if it's my eyes, but I have to hold it precisely in the right spot or I get ghosting.

Depends what i'm using it for.

AR stuff and Ridge Racer i find the ghosting quite a distraction, whereas monkeyball and the other in built stuff, including the 3d video in the downloadable upadte, is fine.

Apparently you can view which 'medals' (which seem to be given for the same conditions as the 360 version's achievements) your friends have earned in SSFIV, so I don't see why there aren't leaderboards and stuff. Ridge Racer not having that feature blows my mind. I'd rather have Leaderboards and ghost sharing than actual online racing.

Me too, seems kind of mental it's not there. Ghost sharing would be a ton more fun and very addictive. Still hopefully in the future game will start implementing it.

Quick ridge racer question: I know it doesn't do online mp but does it have friend leaderboards for time attackage?

It's good job that's how streetpass works in Ridge Racer then.

Do some time attack races, and at the end of the race save the ghost - this will placed on the sd card. When you streetpass with someone with Ridge you will swap these times attack ghosts along with your time attack times. In the single player menu there is a streetpass option that will allow to race against any ghosts you have picked up. Also in the records menu there is a My Ranking leaderboard that will rank the top 40 times of you and anyone you have streetpassed with.

So okay, it's not online and streetpass isn't the best way to be passing these things around - but the functionality is there. Hopefully future games will embrace online better. I will add that I did get one Ridge and one Streetfighter streetpass hit when walking around Norwich earlier - which was cool.

Pilotwings itself says I've been playing it total for just over an hour (on the back of the pilot's license card) but the Activity Log on the main menu says I've been playing Pilotwings for 2:09. The clock in-game is definitely the one in the wrong!

Maybe the one in-game means time spent in the air.

Do you get the lady from the desk telling you that maybe you've spent enough time flying for now?

But I've never really done anything other than spend time in the air - I've certainly not spent over an hour looking at the menus.

I went out and got Rayman 3D earlier, and playing the unit tonight, twice within an hour I've got an error onscreen, something like:

"An error has occurred. If this persists, either contact your vendor or Nintendo to ask for how to resolve this problem. For the moment, please hit the power button to reset your 3DS console."

Anyone else had this problem?

Added my name to the list, and will add a bunch of peeps later.

Even not being able to see the 3D is an ace machine, is just a nice package. My kids are making me take lots of pics with them with AR cards on their heads, so they have giant Kirby hats.

Haven't had the sme problem, but mine did crash when scanning in a QR code. Had to hold the power button in for 5 seconds or so to turn the system off. :(
