Nintendo 3DS - first thread

Mine was asleep with Wifi on from 11PM until 11AM, difference to battery: virtually nil.

So far I've had 2 hours Shadow Wars, half an hour SSFIV (online), some Face Raiders, some messing with the AR stuff, and about 16 hours of sleep-with-wifi-on, and my battery indicator is down to about 75% remaining.

Oh, and I spent about half an hour putting friend codes in too.

That's not bad at all. What brightness setting have you had it on?

Yes it does - obviously though it isn't analog.

EDIT: There was some discussion of this but it was pages ago - how is Mario 64DS using it? Because I couldn't play that due to the terrible controls originally.

Mario 64DS is using it as a digital stand-in. It's still not analogue and it's still impossible to control.

Whatever the default is. I've not changed it yet. I'm not actually sure how to.

+1 for the Starfox love :)

Now then.. im not joking here.. I think the 3DS has sent my eyesight funny

the Computer screen is looking very strange at the moment.. as if my eyes are trying to treat it as a 3DS screen.

this might be a problem  seriouscat.gif

I think its my left eye going bonkers.

Hmmm ok think i'll get SFIV and this will have to be the last game to convince me to keep my 3DS else it's CEX time.

It's a very fun machine and the 3D is cool but I must be becoming jaded with gaming as i feel a little underwhelmed by it all.

I'm a bit like that too. It's as though my eyes are demanding that this very text be raised from the blandness that is 2D. I've evolved.

Quick: gonna pop into town in a second and either get SFIV or Ghost recon. Which should I purchase?

Ghost Recon is excellent if you feel you can ignore the Tom Clancy guff. Haven't played SFIV but I'm extremely happy with GR so far.

Judging from Hewson's sig pic he'll be playing it too?

Another question for anyone with screen protectors - do they reduce the reflectiveness of the screen? I find the 3DS's screen to be far too reflective; I was playing it in the car yesterday and could hardly see the screen for the reflection of my face.

damn streetpass! If it were not for such an invention I would not have had my 3ds out with me, and it would not have fallen on the tarmac :facepalm::doh:

On the plus side it all still works!!

Was also in Sainsburys, most games 34.99, Ghost Recon and Monkeyball 29.99

Have added all in spreadsheet, my code in the sig and apreadsheet.

Have fun all.

I'm hoping Nintendo realise how well racing games work in 3d and therefore announce a remake of Wave Race 64.

I'm impressed by the 3DS's build quality, it looks and feels like a super-deluxe DS. Quite happy taking 3d photos at the moment, I might get Pilotwings but this will probably go away for a while until Zelda, MGS3 and Starfox are out, none of the other launch titles grab me.

Oh please god this. All those waves lapping around and coming out the screen... genius.

Yeah, could be brilliant due to this - especially with really nice transparent 3D seaspray effects.

I don't really see the use of screen protectors in the first place. I never used them on the DS or DS Lite, and that didn't scratch. Although I suppose with Amazon giving them FOR FREE I should give it a shot. They be easily removed, no?

Yeah, I wouldn't use one to prevent scratches due to the machine's clamshell design - ditto for the old DS's. I mean just to prevent this reflectivity problem.

Apart from WaveRace, just how amazing could a proper 1080 game on the 3DS be?

And Pikmin of course, the screen and 3D was made for those gardeny scenes.

I admit my 3DS is bought purely in hope that Nintendo remake lots of their N64/GC games, with the odd new Mario game thrown in.

1080 would go great with Wave Race, and obviously F-Zero.
