tommygun
Damn, was gonna wait for a while but so many good impressions and i'm itching to pop out to the shops... Is the Tesco deal still on? £175 when bought with a game? Hoping to get Pilotwings.
Epcotman
I'm tempted by the Argos offer of a half price 3DS if you trade in an XL. I was going to wait until there was more software available before I got one, but my resolve is weakening. Definitely get one. If the initial line up of software is the thing putting you off, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I have Pilot Wings, Street Fighter, Ridge Racer, Ghost Recon, Monkey Ball and Nintendogs. They ALL feel fresh. This is obviously in part due to the exciting hardware. But many of the titles are surprising and quality in their own right. Petrousgyre
After playing Rayman last night for a bit it dawned on me just how awesome a 3d version of Mario 64 would be. My fave platformer of all time in a glorious extra dimension. Agreed, being able to gauge depth accurately adds something tangible to the gameplay - it's not just a gimmick. Tearing around in Pilotwing on a jetpack through the town demonstrates that rather well. Re: 3D - I spent much of last year working on stereoscopic footage for broadcast, the games I've played so far on 3DS have massively uncomfortable depth with the slider even at half-way. To calibrate you shouldn't be pushing the slider as far as you can before you go cross-eyed, you should push it as little as you can whilst still seeing depth. In Pilotwings that's meant having the 3D slider barely on. The less your eyes have to work the better.
Retroid
Going to have to get SSFIV next, there's nothing in the line-up over the next couple of months that interests me so I need something that has decent multiplayer.
3.142
Thoroughly impressed with all my purchases. Took it down the pub last night where it generated a lot of interest, particularly the AR toys. Really got into Ridge Racer, it takes a lot more concentrating but it really 'puts you there'. I haven't seen much 3D before, but the effect is much better than the films I've been too see. Now to shake off this hangover before I get back on it, bloody lock-ins grumble grumble.
Asura
Think I might head into town and pick up Rayman, then. I've not played any of the prior releases, but every review I can find online for them (such as the DC one) sings its praises. Plus I only got Ridge Racer, and could do with something a little less shallow - Ridge is great for a quick blast but I want something else too. moosegrinder
Well, unless you shop in Game, then they're £39.99 get em from Amazon. As for the RRP...well, I reckon third party stuff will come down to £29.99 but Nintendo stuff will be £34.99 and stay there aye.
lukepgl
My friend code is 1075-0709-8492 I'll try adding some of you guys in a minute. I only have Ghost Recon but I'm really enjoying it at the moment! I also had someone added to my Street Pass as I was walking through town, it was quite exciting. Epcotman
Games for this are always gonna be £35, aren't they? They are all under £30 on ShopTo. You can spend the £5 saving on treats to feed Zoo animals. Such as a plain cashews.
SMD
Games for this are always gonna be £35, aren't they? As moosey said, it's Nintendo. There's no point putting off their games, Pilotwings I doubt will get much cheaper and forget the likes of Mario and Zelda coming down in price. I'm banking on most of the launch titles coming down in price when the big hitters come out, so expect a price cut of sorts when Zelda comes out in June. Don't think pricing will stray too far from DS levels until the new PSP comes out.
Hewson
Adding most of the people from the last few pages! My code's now in the spreadsheet and sig. Now all I need to do is buy some games... it really is a magical little machine. Any news on when the internet/shop is coming online?
shirubagan
Will the purchase transfers work when the shop is online? I want to get rid of my DSi but want to transfer my downloaded games, naturally.

locke_211
This is something I could try myself in 5 mins, but since I'm here, can you use the circle pad thing to stand in for the D-Pad on DS/DSi games?
Hewson
Hope this hasn't already been posted, but I came across this Mii QR page a little while back. I'm not great at identifying them, but Professor Layton and Luke are in there along with a few others. The only downside is that you can't edit the Japanese names... http://matome.naver.jp/odai/2129879257320612101
Aphex Tim
My 3DS code is 5327-0887-7244. Let me know if you add me. Added. And still slowly making my way through the list of people to add. My one wish is that friends leader boards were implemented. I had an odd excitement of seeing I was playing the same games as people on here last night - made it felt more like a modern console if you know what I mean. But being able to see times on say Ridge Racer would be ace. Who else woke up with a bolt of childlike excitement this morning realizing they could play on this today? joffocakes
Apparently you can view which 'medals' (which seem to be given for the same conditions as the 360 version's achievements) your friends have earned in SSFIV, so I don't see why there aren't leaderboards and stuff. Ridge Racer not having that feature blows my mind. I'd rather have Leaderboards and ghost sharing than actual online racing.

Ghost sharing would be a ton more fun and very addictive. Still hopefully in the future game will start implementing it.

Yes it does - obviously though it isn't analog. EDIT: There was some discussion of this but it was pages ago - how is Mario 64DS using it? Because I couldn't play that due to the terrible controls originally.
Melon_Bread
Im liking pilot wings more than i thought and ridge racer a little less, all is great tho. Street fighter looks like little people trapped in your screen. Gone halfway thru the friend codes will add the rest later.
DarhkFox
Hmmm i see ASDA doing it for £202 including a game. My brother gets 10% discount, so that should make it what, £180ish? I think i could get pilotwings from Tesco for £10 with some code i got.. Hmmm

Mafro
Splinter Cell isn't anywhere near as bad as ONM/Ngamer will have you believe. Other than the framerate, it's actually pretty good so far.
deKay
So how long can we expect the battery to last carrying it around asleeep during the day? Do I need to turn off wifi before I go? Mine was asleep with Wifi on from 11PM until 11AM, difference to battery: virtually nil. So far I've had 2 hours Shadow Wars, half an hour SSFIV (online), some Face Raiders, some messing with the AR stuff, and about 16 hours of sleep-with-wifi-on, and my battery indicator is down to about 75% remaining. Oh, and I spent about half an hour putting friend codes in too.

My fave platformer of all time in a glorious extra dimension. I'm hoping Nintendo realise how well racing games work in 3d and therefore announce a remake of Wave Race 64. I'm impressed by the 3DS's build quality, it looks and feels like a super-deluxe DS. Quite happy taking 3d photos at the moment, I might get Pilotwings but this will probably go away for a while until Zelda, MGS3 and Starfox are out, none of the other launch titles grab me.
