It's not fully charged. It got to 3/4 bars, and I just wore down the battery again and plugged the charger back in, still won't charge.

Sent an email to Nintendo UK customer services asking for a new AC adapter so I can see if it's the adapter or the 3DS itself that's the problem

This might not apply to your situation but Ive had this a couple of times with my XL; that the charge light wont come on even though the DS is actually charging. Its happened when Ive forgotten it in sleep mode and drained the battery completely. The light has come back after turning the DS on and off a couple times, and with the DS fully charged despite there being no light.

Yeah, bummer mate. Hope that gets sorted.

As I fully expected the 3D side of this isn't going to be happening for me. I can't really hold the effect for more than a few seconds at a time, but more importantly it makes me feel incredibly weird. It wasn't a motivating factor in buying it in the first place though, so I'm not bothered. All I'm interested in is a new console with a horizon of hopefully great new games to play... in 2D ;)

Ghost Recon is the clear winner. Only dipped in a bit but it's a lovely little strategy game that takes me back to the good old days of Laser Squad. Nice clean presentation too. Ridge Racer is exactly what I wanted it to be. Unfortunately SFIV is kind of what I feared it would be. It's a very impressive, technically competent port, but fighting games just don't belong or work on a handheld in my opinion. They're just way too compromised in control. At the moment I can't think of anything I'd trade it for, but it won't stay in my collection for long.

I was feeling a bit disheartened by all the praise the 3D gets, since it really isn't working for me in any practical way either. When I get into "the zone", it's really impressive - especially in Pilotwings. But I need to work really hard to keep it up. Move slightly, and the screen darkens and ghosts; relax my eyes and it starts to drift. And you hit the nail on the head when you said it feels "weird" - it's like my eyes and brain are trying to tell me that they're doing something very, very wrong.

So I put the slider down to zero and it felt like such a relief. No effort required.

And because I've been mostly playing Ridge Racer, the whole experience now really reminds me of the PSP ;)

It could just be down to your eyes needing to adjust. At first I couldn't handle the AR stuff it made my eyes ache for a good 10 minutes but after a few goes the pain has gone and it all works fine. I suspect they will probably start bleeding later but I'm playing it in 3D no matter what

Man this thing just get's better. All I keep thinking about is the kind of games I want to see for it... And if anyone remembers Blast Corps on the N64? It'd be all kinds of awesome on the 3ds imho, tiny tonker trucks blowing stuff up in glorious 3d.
