Something exciting about Nintendogs:

The game's cleverest feat though is the way it uses the bundled AR (augmented reality) card in the obedience training competition, so that Fred himself - or whoever your pup is - is suddenly beamed down onto your coffee table.

Can't believe this, my girlfriend said she was just popping out to the shops to pick up some food for tonight, half an hour later she comes back with a package of fries..... and a 3DS! :omg::o:wub::D

Total, and complete surprise. I'd only mentioned the device in passing a few months ago, and the girl went to my local indie and pre-ordered one behind my back. So yes, I'm all sorts of stunned and in complete  and :D mode at this point. Time to put a ring on her finger me thinks. :)

I hate you.

No idea chap as haven't even got my console yet (grr Amazon, dispatching soon my arse, and so on), but if you find out do let us know as I'll be in the exact same boat as you. Nice boat you got there, by the way.

So after an afternoon 'out' (some sales presentation about monitoring (social) media) I fully expected some Amazon dispatch mails. And were they there?

Fuck no, games still 'Dispatching Soon' (they have since early this morning) and the console still 'Not Yet Dispatched'. Complete and utter fuckheads.

Amazon have until 7pm judging by the guaranteed delivery notes on each product page (Want guaranteed delivery by March 25? Order in the next... etc). If you/I/we haven't got a dispatch status by then a phone call to customer services might be in order.

Thanks to Spain again not respecting launch dates, I have been playing with the 3DS since yesterday afternoon!

There were tons in stock on the shelves! Ne need to reserve, but I had done just in case.

The blue...........it looks different everytime I bring it out of its case, sometimes vile, sometimes cheap, sometimes sexy, sometimes dated, sometimes futuristic........I guess you can't say it is boring!

I am glad I stuck with it, it's good to have something a bit different!

After my session in Feb with it in a preview expo in Madrid I had my expectations lowered, my hype wasnt at its highest. Ill try and bullet point my feelings after a day tinkering around with it.

PILOTWINGS.

Love it. It does exactly what you expect it would, so if it appeals to you, get it, I have played it for an hour and a half and I am still only on the 2nd (of 5 classes) batch of missions. This 2-3 hour crap is just that, crap. I was very worried about the complaints of the length, but I have spent most of my time with the game learning its mechanics, Free flying, then tackling the missions, and then retrying them to get respectable scores...in short, ENJOYING the game, and there still seems to be plenty left. I am happy with the purchase.

It looks lovely (only have Daytime unlocked so far). And the music is lovely too, for the actual levels and the menus too.

3D is fun too on this game, I have yet to find the "perfect" setting, I get the effect no matter where the slider thing is, so I am lucky I suppose. It hasnt helped me yet, in the game itself, but I cant see myself playing it without 3D.

Street Fighter 3D

This looks GREAT in 3d Dynamic, I haven't even tried normal 3D mode. As wierd as it feels, I cannot stop playing it using this odd angle, just because it LOOKS so damn cool while playing it. I had a few matches online in this mode, got slaughtered, but had fun just watching the attacks flying towards me, the ultra finishes in 3d, the scores and stuff sticking out of the screen.....in all a very playable and impressive looking game with EXCELLENT online options.

3D Camera.

Not spent much time with this, though I have found that I have produced MUCH better and more obvious 3D photos by just taking a normal pic, then going into Graffiti mode and THEN adding 3D, the effect is AMAZING, a huge contrast to the actual "3d photos" you can supposedly take by yourself. The tools you can use to tinker with the pics can creat some great images, I accidently took a pic close up of my jeans, then using a tool I spent a while adding textures to it......sounds boring but the effect was amzingly realistic. The more imaginative you are the better results you will get with this mode.

More later

I hate the Home Delivery Network.

23/03/2011 19:32:00 DROITWICH2 The parcel has been sorted at our hub

No movement for nearly 24 hours?

I'm glad everyone seems to be enjoying PilotWings, the reviews about it being slight had made me doubt my purchase of it. Seems most people are loving it :D

Any detailed thoughts on Splinter Cell? I'm not expecting AMAZE based off early mumblings, but would be nice to know just whether it's at least better than the PSP or - ugh - DS versions. Not to mention whether the 3D adds anything.

SO you can access the IR/Stylus/game slot obviously.

3D effect is utterly amazing. Genuinely impressed. No headaches :)

The cradle covers the IR slot. You also can't get the stylus out because it blocks it extending all the way. You can swap games but that's fiddly.
