Does performance take a hit?

I've got a Pentium 4 2.6GHz with 4gig of RAM and I lose 10fps when it's enabled, I don't think the game really uses the graphic card to push the graphics around so peeps with modern processors shouldn't notice much of a hit.

If you press F3 your FPS is displayed and if you press F5 it'll blow your mind.

F5 woahhh! Just told a few ppl on the server about it. Seems hardly anyone knew!!

"hmmm, OK so something happens if you press F5, lets see what it is then. Multiplayer. minecraft.bencoleman.co.uk.... loading... loading... OK i'm in. Lets try this F5 out"

Its in Joyrex' sig mate, with some info on the multiplayer side of the game too.

Actually, can we get a first post edit to show not only the server info but a good FAQ too? No Minecarts or tracks (till its fixed), set distance to med, etiquette and the rest.

I've edited the first post with details of the server and a link to the portal, I don't want to go over-board as it's RubberJohnny's thread at the end of the day.

A FAQ is a good idea. I'll knock one up and add it to the portal.

Yeah, I got funny looks from the grownups (I'm 26 but surely I don't count as one if I'm buying a doctor who magazine) in the queue, and from the shopkeeper.

I'd even feel like a dick giving the magazine to my mate's son because there's 3D stuff in it and I'd be giving him a magazine with no glasses.

Bah, the Dr. Who glasses don't work for me - don't know if it's just my crappy laptop screen, but I was very concious of being able to see the blue angle more than the red angle and of having the red sheet of acetate right in front of my left eye, almost giving me a massive headache.

The monsters in this scare the shit out of me every time when I'm mining deep. Started a new world and I was admiring a cluster of 6 diamonds I found near the bottom of the first spiral staircase I dug to the bottom when - "UUUURRRGGGH!" - a zombie moaned right in my face, making me jump, then another quickly followed out of the darknesss. I bricked up the tunnel they came from and stuck a "DEAD INSIDE" sign on the wall.

I was flying to the states with work last Sunday, playing this on the plane over with headphones on. I was exploring the first big natural cave when there was a fucking massive THUNK as a skeleton shot at me. I physically jumped in my seat and just about avoided crying out in shock. Fucking skeletons.
