I just ordered from shopto. I've never used them before so I'm taking this with a big pinch of salt.

Pretty impressive though. Unless it's a massive lie.

Holy shit, it just fell through the door.

Shopto are fucking amazing!

Just done a goodly chunk of the co-op. I'm beginning to wonder how much of the ARG stuff is in Portal 2 itself because

there's puzzles outside of the main test chambers where you have to put a disc in a drive. One had something I forger, one had lots of images cycling, one had a string of numbers. At one point GLaDOS also said a string of numbers. I don't know whether it's part of the co-op story (such as it is) or it relates to the single player story as it's supposedly running concurrently or if it's supposed to be 'decrypted'.

Has it supposed to have finished now P2 is out? I think it may be tied in with single player after all.

Just finished it. What a fucking fantastic game.

Really builds on what made Portal good, and expands the gameplay mechanics so much. I'm not even going to mention how they're expanded, because they surprised me completely (having read nothing about the game, more or less) and it's worth experiencing that if you also don't know about it. The storyline is also great, and the voice work and the script are just... I was laughing like an idiot throughout. The ending actually stunned me. As for the difficulty level, I found it just right. I got stuck at several points but with each one, just as I was on the cusp of saying 'screw it' and looking up a solution, I twigged and pushed on. Some of the puzzles people have mentioned as being obtuse or hard were ones that I breezed through, and others which haven't been mentioned at all stumped me for a good while. So I think it's pretty well-judged really. I wouldn't want the game to get progressively harder as it went on, either - for me, the idea of a 'difficulty curve' is one that belongs with finite lives and high score tables. As in, a game that I would hate to play and probably never finish.

Looking forward to doing the co-op. Oh and the Super 8 interactive teaser is pretty cool.

Yeah, it was only on finishing the teaser, when it rolls the film credits that it clicked. Actually an interesting idea, and pretty well executed, but as I went in with the wrong expectations it didn't really have much of a positive effect on me, as I was too busy being bemused and somewhat disappointed.

Just finished the single player, Steam says it took 8 hours, so I guess that makes me a dummy. Still, looking forward to going through again with the Dev Commentary on. Not really sure I can be bothered with the Co-op, is it as much of an arse ache as they made it look in the previews? I know it's basically another whole campaign to play but the idea of relying on someone else to enjoy myself for 8 hours doesn't sound likely.

Finished - what an excellent game!

Love the ending, and how they set it up as a role reversal on the GLaDoS boss fight.

Actually, I loved everything about Wheatly - when they "killed" him at the end of Act 1 I thought it was really effective at character building because I went "aww", then when he appeared in Act 3 telling his story I was laughing, and when they set him up as the next Glados I thought that was a bit odd, but those last few acts sealed it. I loved his shitty test, and his inept supervillaining.

So, anyone up for Multiplayer?

Ending spoilery stuff that's really just gushing praise rather than discussion but is still spoilery:

The corrupted cores almost stole the show, once again. From 'Space? Space! I want to go to space!' (and the associated payoff, which was sublime) to the sexist core to the one giving bogus facts like 'Over the course of their lives, 1 in 6 children will be abducted by the Dutch'. Absolutely fantastic.

The whole 'portal to the moon' thing was just inspired, as well. My God, I couldn't believe it.

It's bloody fantastic, isn't it.

The tear in the ceiling appears, and then you see it. You instantly think "No? No way. Maybe if... Oh YES!"

Completed the 360 version just now. Like everyone else, I loved it.

Loved Wheatley. I hope he survives somehow. The bit in chapter 3 where he's trying to tell you how he survived but you only hear snippets had me nearly crying laughing. Overall, though, I thought it wasn't as difficult as the first game. And it veered a little too close to screwball comedy in places, particularly the underground stuff with Cave Johson.

It definitely warrants a second play at some point though. And if anyone fancies a run through co-op on the 360, let me know.

Was stuck, but a little break helped me to sort it out in a few seconds.

Just watching the football on Sky, have noticed that they've got a big blue portal in the studio with Alan Smith and Teddy Sherringham - just keeping my eye out for the orange one, waiting for Chell to pop up in the studio.

Related to the above:

The set up is perfect as well. considering the white stuff being lunar moon dust..

The one thing i really want to know is: where the hell did all those suction vent things go! I remember seeing gameplay trailers for them..

Oh yeah! I completely forgot about them - I wonder what happened?

"Oh, sorry, hope that didn't disturb you - that's just the sound of books"

i'm up for some portal2 co-op on PC if anyone wants to have a game?

steam ID is enarep i think. or nicky in the rllmuk group.

You can play with all the PS3 gamers too remember. Which reminds me, PS3-only Portal 2 owners should definitely add themselves to the Rllmuk group.

I liked Stephen Merchant's performance but I wonder if he was Valve's first choice for Wheatley.

Just started playing through again with the commentary. Insane. Valve are doing some Pixar-by-way-of-NASA level stuff with regards to animation.
