I played it at The Gadget Show Live. Strangely while nearly all the new stuff that was playable, like Duke Nukem Forever, Gears of War 3 and Dirt 3, had big elaborate displays, this was randomly available on one machine in a big row of Xboxes playing stuff like Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Lego Star Wars.

Shit! I was there yesterday and totally missed Portal 2!

Still, not long to wait.

In a way I'm glad I did, as the story and premise of Portal really interests me but the puzzle aspect winds up my low attention span. Cancelled my preorder

Will wait and see how the co-op aspect goes down.

See I normally hate long winded games but the puzzles in Portal and Portal 2 are bitesize. There is enough variation that stops them becoming to samey which I thought the first game suffered from. To be honest if you managed to sit there and watch someone play though it I imagine your attention span can easily stretch enough to play the game.

It's no slight on the game at all, it's just a personal thing that I get really frustrated on puzzles but really like like progressive narrative that isn't held back by my lack of skill at the puzzles. To be honest I probably got as much fun watching THIS game as I would playing it.

I can see Macosx's point. I'm not one for puzzles either.

Its like something you know you want to enjoy, but eventaully you'll get to a point where you'll just get frustrated. Scoring concepts are altogether different, but puzzle games, however nice, are an endless source of frustration.

That said, i got into Halo Reach for the first time last night and found it a bit dull so maybe i need something new.

Re-completed the original yesterday morning in about 2 hours. It really is glorious, though I'm loving the oh-so-subtle differences between the original and the footage we've seen of the new game. Bought the Potato Pack bundled with Portal 2 yesterday as well, not played all the potato games yet but I've enjoyed what I've played so far.

That's pretty much what I feel. That's why I'm waiting to see how the coop plays out as I reckon the frustration factor for me will be less having someone to bounce ideas off rather than chucking the pad or using a FAQ

Awesome game! The graphics have had a huge overhaul but the characters themselves are a huge part of the game.

The puzzles are very clever, nothing over the top difficult just yet but they bring new gameplay elements into it that were not in the original.

Loved it, and really pumped for the next one now.

It should be quite obvious - many of us won't have known there was a thingy there. It's the biggest spoiler I've had, at least. It's clear it was from good intent but you should expect some negs for breaking the news.
