Portal 2

Sweet, my flatmate's gonna buy Portal 2 for his 360. Co-op ahoy! Exciting.

Also don't stone me to death here: I never played Portal (laptop at the time couldn't run it) but the whole look and plot of it seemed so exciting that I cracked and spoiled it for myself by watching playthroughs on youtube. That might be sacrilege but I still enjoyed the whole atmosphere. Definitely staying spoiler-free for this one though.

If you have a 360 Portal is on sale at the moment think its 600 points

That is correct, yes. The PC/Mac version gets activated on your Steam account when you activate the PS3 copy.

I'd forgotten about the Mac stuff. So really buying the PS3 version will let you play it on 3 different platforms. Who the fuck else does that?

Valve

I just checked and as far as I can tell it hasn't leaked yet thank god. I would hate it if it got spoiled to fuck by fucking screechy American teen console pirates before the Steam version unlocks and we all get to go in fresh and experience the awesome as it was intended to be.

Edit: not aimed at you Big_H! :D

Tomorrow? Oh shit! :omg: I'll definitely be taking advantage of the PS3plusfreePC version and I'll take great pleasure in seeing how well Valve have managed to figure out the MC Escher PS3 architecture.

Tomorrow for the PC version of course*. If you're waiting for the PS3 version to unlock it for free.... well then you're waiting until the console version comes out next week.

*if the hints in the ARG are anything to go by. Could still be nothing more than a Glados hat for TF2.

What? Oh. Amazon have them all listed for release under tomorrow's date, but if you click on each individual entry then they say the 21st. Has GLADYS infected Amazon too?

If you have a PC/laptop with Steam capable of playing Portal you can have my free copy if you want Catachresis. Might as well give it to someone who would like to play it!

Thanks for the offer chap, but I still don't think it'd handle it. My flatmate's got 360 Orange Box: I'm not sure whether to play through the first game (it'd be slowly - I'm fucking terrible at both those sort of puzzles and FPS games, with low frustration threshold) or just jump into 2, grin and bear my ineptitude for the inevitably brilliant story, and let the spirit of co-operation guide us through the other mode. Maybe the former: I should probably train on the basics. Fuck it, I'm gonna spend Saturday getting baked and learning the ropes. Good meeting!

Also, this ARG came and got me excited at just the wrong time. I've just started playing HL2, it's miles better than I thought it would be (I thought the whole dystopia-city thing couldn't be as cool as Black Mesa, I'm obv wrong), I decided a post ago to play Portal, and I've just got a new fucking job! My life is like buses.

Calm down Joe. Get through tomorrow, then you can sacrifice your weekend on Valve's batshit mental altar.
