TBH I want Peter Cullen out as well. The last couple of years he has overdramatized Optimus' voice so much, it's becoming a parody of itself. I would have preferred it if they had gotten Animated's Megs & Prime duo (I absolutely loved Burton's Megatron), but I guess that's out of the question when you try to fit in with G1.

Cullens still very good as Prime IMO though you are right he overdramatizes a bit but not enough to put me off. If they got rid of him though I wouldn't go near anything Transformers related anymore (if Prime wasn't voiced by him). I can live with Megatrons voice being someone else but you get rid of Cullen, you've killed Optimus Prime off for me.

He didn't voice him in Animated and Beast Wars (OK technically that wasn't Optimus Prime but you know) and those were arguably the best shows.

Well I've never liked either of them shows (hated Beast Wars) but they also weren't part of my childhood. Cullen IS Optimus Prime to me, noone else is or would do in that role. Childhood nostalgia is a strong thing even if it seems totally unreasonable.

Been listening to Til' All Are One and a thought just struck me...why is Stan Bush SO fucking set on making sure his music is always affiliated with Transformers? Yeah I know his biggest hits are associated with the brand but I mean redoing the touch in an attempt to get it on the new terrible move? From what I've seen he was pretty big in the 80's and still has a decent following, so why does he have to be associated with what is essentially, a load of plastic toys?

That EG review is terrible. I mean, negative and badly written. Oh and the PS2 game is brilliant, not just a "tech demo".

Maybe it's Cacky in Disguise. :(

But reading that EG review, I couldn't really disagree. It is horribly by the numbers, and while it works it feels a bit of a bad fit. The Atari one perversely enough makes better and more sane use of your vehicle mode. In WfC only Leaders can ram others in vehicle mode for instance, never mind that you have a jump button (!) to let your vehicle make jumps from ramps.

The ammo-thing is also a bit weird, but not completely wrong (I'd have combined it with your own recharging energy level as a trade-off), and the block-health system from Riddick, seems to miss a warning signal each time you lose a block. Either do a recharge on the entire bar, or notify players when you are losing a block, because now you can be in a battle for four seconds, dive out after getting pummeled, only to realise you have 25% left with no means to get more.

And yes, the Energon Shards are completely useless as there should be a timer on your skills anyway. Picking them up to recharge skills is nuts and useless (nevermind confusing, it's like the old "hearts are not for health" confusion of Castlevania). There's a lot wrong then, but it's doesn't wreck the game. Just makes you wonder how much better it could have been. In terms of setting and IP it's nigh-on perfect.

Well I also asked if they would price match the local HMV who were selling Singularity for £39.99- Game was £44.99. I was given a flat no, they won't do that any more. Without derailing the thread too much it's events like these that make me understand why they are in such a mess.
