I think £50 is fair enough for an old band plus the price of touring etc.

Anyway got sorted for Dublin!

I saw pavement the day before Crooked Rain came out, they played Belfast. It was fantastic, we got to watch the soundcheck and had a chat with a few of the band after as they went to eat and we got stuck into our carryout while hiding from the cops behind a big billboard that used to be beside the venue.

I got two tickets for Sunday’s show in Camden, I’m so excited I’m a big Pavement fan, along with Silver Jews they’re my favourite band. One of my tickets may be spare in case any mukkers fancy it, let me know. I’ve never been to a gig on my own and getting back to Brighton that late on a Sunday may be tricky but I’ll do it for Steve who I consider the greatest song writer of his generation and the best musician of the 90’s along with Richard D James.

So I definitely have a spare ticket for Sunday night now if anyone is interested let me know, I don't want to see it going to waste. I will also be attending a gig on my own which I feel a bit of trepidation about especially as I'm a small dude and I'm in the standing area and I would like to get somewhere I can actually see the band. Anyway, any Pavement fans fancy going let me know.

I want to say yes. I'd love to see Pavement. I adore Pavement.  Can almost certainly get there from West Midlands. Don't know about getting back. That's the real issue. Might take the punt and say yes regardless. I really would like to see Pavement, and I'm off work after this morning's shift. Put me in as back-up, please. I will look at travel tomorrow when i'm sober.

Ok man for sure no worries :)

Yes getting back to Brighton on Sunday night is a bit iffy too but doable, and going by the sets they’ve been doing in the states it’s a solid 2 hours of Pavement!

Saw these guys in Manchester last night.

I'll prefix this by saying while I like a lot of the band's records, I haven't listened to them religiously. I can't even remember the name of many songs outside of my personal favourites and the bigger hits, and I'd never seen them live before.

Going to the gig I was wondering how well they'd translate live. Malkmus' vocals and the idiosyncrasies of his guitar work could so easily end up lost in the noise.

I needn't have been concerned. They sounded fantastic. Very tight playing. Stephen was on great form and looked to be enjoying himself. Bob brought so much intensity with his vocal and percussion contributions. The set was eclectic and very well paced, plenty for all types of fans in there. There was a much bigger energy in the crowd than I imagined you'd get for a Pavement gig - it was beautiful to be a part of.

Amazing band even though I knew sod all of the tracks apart from the hits. They're lo fi indie gone mainstream, and cause of that people without alopecia were in the audience, good to see the next gen get into it.

Also Bob Nastanovich may just be the second best backing vocalist of all time (wouldn't unseat Wendy Smith though).

Well here I am in Dublin going to see them once again. After London I wanted to experience them one last time as I have doubts they’ll tour like this again. Can’t wait!!

How did you get on, i was at the friday gig.  Fantasic.  last seen them in 1994 in Belfast so quite a gap.  I thought the setlist was fantastic, the band sounded amazing and seemed really happy to be playing. Song after song, barely a gap and even a most pit at times.

Yeah I had an amazing time thanks, Dublin is great, very vibrant and buzzy. I didn't get too drunk during the show like in London and I was quite close to the stage and could see the band. Only downside was I happened to be surrounded by a bunch of 20 somethings who clearly didn't know the tunes or were that into it so whilst I was going wild like many other people in the crowd I was surrounded by fucking mannequins, kids these days are so lame. But yeah it was great, an amazing tracklist and a really good venue. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
