Played JohnnyArgos a little earlier than we had originally planned...

Everton clinch promotion to the Championship in the League 1 Playoff Final with a 4-2 win over JohnnyArgos' Hamburg side...

The game started well for the Toffees with them applying some early pressure. A couple of half chances from an angle forced Hamburg's keeper into action before The Yak broke through and finished well to put the Toffess 1 up. Johnny created a few half chances and had one excellent effort that came back off the bar before the Yak scored a carbon copy of the first to double the Blues' lead before half time.

Good defensive play by both teams meant the score at half time stayed at 2-0

Whatever plans Hamburg had for the second half were smashed soon after the break when Yak was gift wrapped his hat-trick after a Hamburg defender chose to slide in to clear the ball away, when the goalkeeper seemingly had it under control. The ball came back off the post leaving The Yak to slot home his, and Everton's third.

Hamburg rallied and got an excellent (and deserved) goal with a great solo run from the CF who calmly finished. A period of Hamburg pressure ensued but this was ended when Tim Cahill smashed home from the angle for Everton, after a neat turn inside the defender. With the game lost Johnny's boys did not give up and grabbed another with virtually the last kick of the game to give a fairer look to the score.

Well done Johnny - things just did not seem to go for you in this game. I thought I probably deserved the win on the day but on another day the result could have been quite different as there really isn't anything between us.

Cheers everyone.

It's actually the first season where I created chances and finished them. In Fifa 09 seasons past I went from creating chances but couldn't hit a barn door to playing entire games having only one attempt at goal (sometimes none!!!)

Got the balance right this season without being too leaky at the back so I'm well chuffed - I'm sure I'll be pretty good in the final season of Fifa 10 too ;)

I am confirmed however, as the perpetual Championship/League 1 'yo-yo' player

It was a great game. I went 3 ahead pretty early on, and then Mike gave me a penalty which I buried. After the break, Mike got two good goals and I was rather worried until, from the re-start, I played a lovely through ball to an attacker and sealed the deal. Mike got another consolation at 90mins.

I'm pretty pleased!

Hey, sorry.

Still without internet at home since moving house (been over 3 weeks now!) but Sky assure me it will be active on 16th. Will next Wednesdy / Thursday / Friday be ok? Thursday would be best for me.

Hi OneDaveBamber, any news on your connection, are you back up and running?

What happens if we don't get these games played before I go of to Italy tomorrow (i'm back in the UK on the 23rd), will it go to the pools panel?

Still nothing I'm afraid, but if there's no immediate rush then could we do it when you get back? The missus is away on a course for the next few weeks so will be able to play as soon as you're available.

Sorry for messing everyone around! Moving house is a nightmare, never again!

The scoreline does not the reflect game one bit as I thought both teams were quite even but my strikers just had one of those days and that was the key really. Thanks for the game Donnie and good luck next season.

Finally Premiership time for me ;)
