The Centre for Computing History in Cambridge has got another GoldenEye event tomorrow.

 

It's mainly a "GoldenEye World Championship" competition, but you get access to the museum where you can see design documents, concept art and play 4 screen GoldenEye.

 

A couple of the developers (lead developer Martin Hollis and character artist Brett Jones) will be there to compère.

Surely that’s exactly what it is? Or an enhanced version of it, anyway.

Yeah sounds like straight port of the N64 original, upressed a bit from the sounds of that tweet. I would have preferred the 360 remake.

I thought they would use the term "remaster". The 4k and smoother framerate makes me think its gonna be original assets. I wonder if its because it has to be the same on both platforms?

25yrs ago I was the greatest Goldeneye player within a 0.3 mile radius.  Online matchmaking better not drive a tank through my mental image of past glories.

They haven't even added online to the Xbox version, I don't think. "even in split-screen local multiplayer!"

 

Maybe I am just reading too much into the wording of that tweet.

The beta version had Local and System Link, if memory serves. Hopefully they've got some sense and added online.

Ok realistically what are the chances that the Switch port gets online but Xbox doesn't? That doesn't make any sense.

Well, if Nintendo's N64 online service sends input data and syncs the game that way, it would make sense its online only on Switch, yeah.

Perfect Dark received online multiplayer when it was remastered, and I can't see this being any different.
