It sold more. And MW3 preorders are bigger than Black Ops. Depressing isn't it? This is why we need Zelda to succeed.

I don't know what Zelda "succeeding" has to do with which other games people choose to buy or play. Do you think if Zelda sells 20m then people will stop playing Call of Duty?

Nintendo customers haven't got a clue what Skyrim is

Here's Stanley with another one his stupidly broad and inaccurate statements. Hello Stanley.

Don't get me wrong guys, I'm really looking forward to this a lot. It's just, when I think of how obsessed I became with Morrowind and Oblivion, I know that when Skyrim is released no other game will get a look in. I've bought every Zelda game since LttP on the SNES on launch day and loved devoting my time to each (Spirit Tracks excepted. Bleugh). This will be the first time a Zelda game will be released that I'll buy and not be able to devote my time to it because there's just too much going on in November.

That makes me a little sad, I guess.

Nintendo releasing a game for their home console at Christmas is the problem? Would you prefer they delayed it and replaced it with a 'we have nothing to sell you, nothing, but there are some games coming out next year, we promise' holiday advertising campaign? Because they'll do it, ask any Gamecube owner.

They can bring games forward, you know.

No one suggested bringing it out of the Christmas games release schedule either.

Good, then the stupid argument is over. We get Zelda released in November and we all play it over the Christmas holiday as is tradition.

And, unlike Zelda, Skyrim gets discounted to £17.99 after a couple of weeks.

So do we think it's ready? I'm not really convinced - just by the little amount of footage we've had... I feel that this might be rushed like Wind Waker was; we'll see but I'd prefer to see it released during summer.

I reckon it's been 'ready' for ages and they've just been tweaking it and applying the Nintendo polish for a while. They've been working on it for about 3-4 years or so have they not?

It felt like for two years all they had was that picture Shigsy drew. It might not be the case but that's the way it seemed.

Here's Swallow - no idea who he is but his opinion is worthless.

Modern Warfare really does some up what's wrong with games these days. People who buy it are like Oasis fans, it's the same thing over and over year after year.

But the doubters are right I guess. Nintendo should hold off releasing one of their most keenly awaited titles this Christmas, on the biggest selling console, to make way for Modern Dad Battle Soldier 7.

Hang on, you claimed Nintendo fans have no idea what Skyrim is. Do you honestly think that is in any way a substantial, reasonable statement to make? Whose opinions are "worthless", remind me?

You are simply clueless. There's a reason people buy Call of Duty. here's a clue: it's not for the singleplayer experience. There is a massive, seemingly insatiable demand for high-quality multiplayer experiences from people willing to hand over their cash for them. Pretending this doesn't exist and has no effect on the consumerist world of video game development is simple-minded at best.

War stays the same.

In defense of Stanley I'd be willing to bet the vast majority of Wii owners have never heard of Skyrim. I'd wouldn't have known what it was either if I hadn't seen the thread on here and chuckled at the thought of God's fluffy cloud-anus.

Of course they fucking haven't. Go and ask your mum what a Skyrim is.

My mum isn't a Nintendo fan. Myself and my friends are. I know what Skyrim is. They know what Skyrim is. You've seen the cinema and tv adverts aimed at ordinary (ie non-hardcore-gamer) people, right? Why do you get so agitated and offensive? Can't you present your views reasonably without insulting others?
