I wouldn't go that far, but it's definitely a bit shit that their big reveal is pre-recorded and well, not real.

But we haven't had the big reveal yet, that is tonight. Although this event happened yesterday it isn't intended to be shown to the public until tomorrow and is clearly the big glossy mainstream launch, the proper 'reveal' is obviously going to be onstage tonight. If it's all pre-recorded Sonyism tonight then the criticism is valid.

Just because they filmed episode 3 of the new Doctor Who first it doesn't mean you should watch it before episode 1 and then complain that you don't have any idea who the characters are.

W.. What does that mean? They demonstrated it to an audience consisting of the games industry. They should have just shown the tech, not a massive parade of circus clowns and elephants with pre-recorded footage complete with actor struggling to keep up with the on-screen actions. If anything, that should have been for the public. Wrong audience guys.

It was always billed as an 'experience' not a show everything show.

it's something when the best we can hope for is that it works. I hope they show kinetic actually working 2nite!

Aye, but I fail to see how an MTV audience would be impressed by an overly enthusiastic American family acting out a cheery script of YAY FAMILY TIME FUN on a rotating stage.

Let's hope they don't cut to shots of the poncho audience either, as from what I've heard most looked like bored and jetlagged timetravellers.

Wasn't this the reason Nintendo went 'on tour' to give everybody an idea of what it was? I don't know what kind of audience MTV thinks it's serving nowadays, but I'm not sure it's compatible with the casual stuff on display here.

Nintendo could go on tour because the wii worked. You played wiisports you had to buy a wii. Ms haven't got that so they're using a mixture of lies, elephants and smiles.

Forget about the lies, elephants and videotapes. They need a proper audience to hear the message whatever it may be. It looks like MS is slightly mismatching that at the moment, but that may be momentarily. Still not convinced MTV works in this respect.

MTV especially the US version is now mainly a lot of reality TV programming so precisely the sort of people that would be receptive to what was shown.

the first reveal was all staged with milo. Then we saw natal looking shit when rossy played it. It still looks shit and yet people are still making excuses for it. Nintendo only showed the wii when it worked. This kinetic clearly isn't robust enough for ms to be confident that it'll work. It's a disaster. It's a fucking car crash.

You mean there are versions of the Wii Remote that now work, consistently, all of the time?

Where can I get one of these marvellous devices? It doesn't sound like any Wii Remote I've ever used.

In that case it's pretty much a perfect match. Maybe add some Avatar/Twilight waggle-games and you're done.

It's always been that way, that's why when first shown they could get chimps out of the audience to play it. They didn't make him wear a special suit and fake everything. That's nintendo for you and the reason everybody is trying to copy them.

the star wars game is on rails - it's obvious that the point of the game is for you to bust the same moves as your jedi mans does on the screen.

NOW COME ON PEOPLE - if that were on the Wii with waggle you'd be lolling into your collective cabbages... at least when a wii game is on rails you get to point guns and things and shoot them.

the ones who will are the Wii owners who already have 360s.

The real casual crowd probably find it hard enough to get a Wii under their telly - they're not going to buy another box to sit next to their video player.
