Hmmm. I may have just gotten the Cold Stream DLC for free, I'm not sure. If you go the Downloads section of the main L4D2 menu, there's an option to download Cold Stream, and when you select it it says it costs 0 points. I chose purchase and it got added to my Active Downloads and is downloading now. Maybe it'll end up as corrupt or something because it still isn't in the marketplace. I definitely haven't paid anything though, as I only had 50 points in my account. I'll update when it's downloaded and see if it works or not.

It seems like the hold-up is Microsoft's end because everything in L4D2 is prepped for Cold Stream. The blog says it's out now and the Cold Stream levels all appear in the campaign selection menu.

Didn't Gabe slag off Windows 8 recently? And now Microsoft are being a bit tardy getting Valve stuff onto xbox live. Hmmm...

So cold stream then. Not liking it. It's like a hoard mode non stop and there's no new achievements.

Playing the rest of the old levels with l4d2 mechanics is alright but it has reinforced how much I fucking hate spitters and jockeys.

Me & a mate accidentally made the game Friends-only so it was us plus two AIs. Pretty easy until the bridge....the number of times we were smashed off the side of the bridge by chargers, or got right to the very end only to both be incapacitated by the second Tank

Got there in the end though. This game is so good :D

Ooh, just noticed the Cold Stream DLC is down to 280 MSP today only :)

Gonna have to pick that up (even though I don't have so much as a single internet in the house, and need to add 70MSP just to afford it! Woe is me.)

So are there any folk who may have picked this cheap recently who haven't rinsed this and fancy a couple of play throughs?

I'm considering grabbing the L4D1 DLC, worth it?

I'd be up for it one night. L4D 1 DLC probably isn't worth getting now for the price. Its good but L4D DLC is much better especially as it gives you all the maps from the first game.

Sorry, I meant the L4D2 DLC that gives you the L4D1 campaigns. Does it get discounted often?

It is worth grabbing at any price but I'm not sure how often on the Xbox it's on sale. Pc seems to be quite often.

Yes and yes. My gamertag's Mega Drive II.

I'll probably pick up the L4D maps also.

Posted this in the RE6 thread but it's relevant to both!

For people who are getting the PC version of Resident Evil 6 a cool crossover has been announced between Capcom and Valve. Basically Left 4 Dead 2 is getting some of RE6's monsters and RE6 Mercenaries No Mercy PC mode is getting the 4 characters from Left 4 Dead 2 with their own weaponsets. It'll be a free download for both on April 5th. As someone who likes both those games that's pretty cool :D

http://kotaku.com/59...-4-dead-2-title

Capcom and Valve are pleased to announce the Resident Evil® 6 x Left 4 Dead 2 project. This crossover project between two of the interactive entertainment industry's most respected publishers will see characters from Left 4 Dead™ 2 featured exclusively in the forthcoming PC version of Resident Evil® 6, while enemies from Resident Evil 6 will invade the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2. All content will be made available completely free for fans of either game to access and play.

Owners of Resident Evil 6 PC will be able to select one of four survivors from Left 4 Dead 2's iconic cast – Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle – when playing PC exclusive mode, The Mercenaries No Mercy. Each character will have a special customized weapon load-out created just for use in Resident Evil 6. In addition to the four survivors, two of the infamous Special Infected zombies from the Left 4 Dead franchise – the Witch and Mini Tank – will also make a cameo appearance in this mode, relentlessly attacking players regardless of whether a character from Left 4 Dead 2 or Resident Evil 6 is chosen. This new and exclusive content will automatically be downloaded in the background to all owners of the PC version of Resident Evil 6 from April 5.

Making the leap to the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be some of Resident Evil 6's most fearsome enemies – Lepotitsa, Napad and Ogroman. All three characters were brought to life in Left 4 Dead 2 by Valve's renowned developers using its Steam Workshop tools. Owners of the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be able to face a new deadly challenge when Resident Evil 6 characters infect Valve's classic zombie title this spring.

Commenting on the crossover project, Chet Faliszek from Valve stated: "We're huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it."

Resident Evil 6 Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi added: "The Resident Evil 6 team really enjoyed working on this crossover, and we're confident that our fans will have a great time with it too! We hope you enjoy this unique content."

It was me in the online thread looking for people to play. A buddy and I have started back into it just last night and that's just made me want to play more! I'm thinking of trying to play it most Monday evenings if anyone fancies it.
