Halo: Reach

Christ...I'm praying that it does run at 60. ODST was appalling on my Panasonic V10. And I don't mean the gameplay.

Sorry if this has been posted already but I cannot believe how expensive the Legendary edition is. Beats the cat helmet for Halo 3 but not by much.

Seeing as Halo has always run at 30fps, I don't really see the contention. So long as it's solid, and the screen isn't being torn every other frame, the fact that everyone's on an even footing makes it something of a non-issue in my eyes.

Bugger, halo 3 was horrible to go back to after MW2's smoothness.

Only takes a game or two to get used to it again though, but it is a massive drop when you first go back to it I agree.

I am now super-excited for this. I've gone back to Halo 3 to get me back into the swing of things and to get me in the mood, and playing it made me realise just how much more I enjoy Halo than any other FPS, it's the fucking bomb-diggy. Hopefully Reach'll be the retutrn of the king.

There's no AI in multiplayer (I was referring only to mp), and I'd take a lower res for a smoother game. Different games, different scale, etc. I know. Disappointing.

You'd then most likely have an inconsistent 60fps, like say Bayonetta on PS3. I'd rather have a solid framerate than one that varies.

True, it's a bit of a shock to return to after MW's silky smoothness. It's not a major thing, just disappointing compared to Forza 3's (et al) improvements.

Really  Is that a serious question?

Sure.

Oh yeah, for sure.

I've a taste for MW2 and its 60fps buttery smoothness, but there is so much less going on than in a Halo game.

As much as I'd love Halo to be 60fps, it just isn't possible. Reach will be 30fps, but it will be a rock solid 30fps.

BC2 was 30fps and a better game in a lot of folks opinion, people didn't have a problem adjusting to that

Halo is fine as it is, it is not a twitch shooter like MW2 so it doesn't need that extra smoothness

Indeed. It's all subjective. Play MW2 then BC2 and yes, BC2 looks more 'jerky'. However, BC2 looks more film-like in the same way that TV shows shot on film look better than those shot on video. Going back to MW2 after playing BC2 was like watching Casualty (shudder) after watching ER.

I played the Split/Second demo yesterday, and whilst, yes, 60fps wouldn't hurt it, 30fps is perfectly adequate, and I never thought about it.
