Any news on a demo for this?

No demo incoming I'm afraid.

I'm really looking forward to this and have been for a very long time. Dunno whether to go for the Xbox or PC one though. Splash Damage don't get nearly enough credit to say that they have put out nothing but absolutely brilliant games so far! I would still have said that ET was my favorite shooter until MW2 came along. It's kinda sad that I see very little excitement for this game in most places.

I'm going xbox on this one..and more excited than I've been for an FPS in a very long time.

Wolf:ET is easily my best memories of a multiplayer FPS, the guys at SD seriously know how to make this kind of game, and in particular their level design guys are incredible.

Just hope this gets the attention it demands., I totally understand all the reasons for not putting out a demo, but the casuals have been pissing and moaning a whole lot, and it's a crowded month for new releases :(

Just done my amazon pre-order. :omg: I paid for Royal Mail postage so they claim it should be there on day or release, anyone any experience of this being the case?

Lots of people have experience of Amazon being shit with preorders. Some sites like to get it to you the day before release date, with Amazon you're doing well if you get it the day after.

And paying postage is a waste of money for preorders. It just means they send it out later.

Last thing I preordered from them was a CD. They sent it on the Saturday before the release date, I got it on the Wednesday.

3 mins of glorious gameplay footage.

Èither there's something horribly wrong with the sound design or something must've gone wrong during the capturing of that gameplay. Hopefully this won't be present in the final game.

Still looks as fun as ever though.

Sorry, I forgot to mention it's footage edited and put together from a recent interview. I think that's why the audio isn't all that great. (it hasn't been like that in previous footage, but then my memory has been terrible lately, so I might be wrong)

I honestly can't see what's wrong with it. I love the way it's very directional and the way you're hearing is suppressed by explosions. Seems pretty immersive to me (unless im completely missing something) The footsteps do admittedly sound a bit low/general movement.

Article on the sound design.

SMART Tutorial - The Basics

:)

I wasn't particularly interested in this until I saw that video - now it looks pretty damned good to me. Very slick, and it looks like they might have found a way to force teamwork / objective based gameplay.

I really like the look of this, but the amount of hit points the characters seem to have seems very high. Obviously it's not trying to be CoD (nor would anyone want it to be), but in most of the videos I've seen, enemies take almost a clip of assault rifle ammo to dispense, so flanking two or three of them and sneakily taking them out looks like it would be almost impossible. It leads to the slightly surreal sight in some of the clips of combatants reloading in the middle of one-on-one gunfights having dealt each other a reasonable amount of damage already.

That happens all the time in Halo, and it's a better game for it (in my opinion) than the fastest finger first type gameplay that accounts for the other 99% of current shooters.

Section 8 does the same thing and it's better for it as well. I like twitch shooters as well but I'm loving the way this is much more team based and you can have a good gunfight by the looks of it.

Sorry to keep on about TF2 but looking at those videos it does have the slower, more team-focussed gameply of a TF2. I liked the natural way you stick with your team, or at least are always aware of what they're doing, and together you put pressure on the enemy, or hold them off. This looks like it has that, the maps look compact, and as others have said looks like it encourages teamwork. Will definitely be giving this a try, most likely on PC.

Oh and I like the fact it's really obvious who the enemy are at all times, none of this getting killed when someone comes around a corner at you. Yeah sorry, that's just me being rubbish.
