And I am absolutely sure, what with Mr Dr Reverend Tim Langdell being an utter stickler for copyright and original ideas, that Wordzle is a completely fresh idea and certainly not relat... oh, who am I kidding?

OMG. Thats amazing. I have joined the WOS group just to see this first hand.

The amount of edge , the edge edge games, edge Inc, edge trademarks on that wordzle (gummige) page alone just makes me wonder if he'll attempt to use it for yet more proof he invented the word edge and is owed money any time anyone uses it anywhere in the past or the future.

This was one of my absolute favourite threads back in the day, truly fantastic work. And HOW is his website SO AWFUL, his link to his one 'new game' Bobby Bearing 2 goes to a completely different website that is very clearly not about Bobby Bearing 2.

Don't push me
'Cause I'm close to the Edge
I'm trying not to lose my completely tangible and flawless trademark agreements

It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under

So his latest game is called Wordzle.

He's going to trademark the word 'word' in game titles claiming he invented it and go after Wordle for the big bucks.

It’s not even the first word puzzle game on mobile called Wordzle.

Actually, yeah in a few cases. The product line he was suing Razer (IIRC) for went through the complete life cycle to obsolescence before there was any progress in the case so they just didn’t respond.

He seems to be receiving a warm welcome in that group regaling them with tales about the tricks used in designing Fairlight for the Spectrum. If it is him and not some troll he's got a brass neck that's for sure.

He didn’t design fairlight. It was Bo janburg or something like that

Just saw this at the bottom of the edgegames website:

Quote

"Children are our future." EDGE donates 90% of its profits to charities and institutions
for the benefit of children in need, at-risk children, and sick & dying children.

And now I don’t know what to feel.

Does he take money from them when his company makes a loss? As it surely has every year for the past 20 years.

It’s probably wise to feel that that statement is as truthful as everything else he’s claimed over the years.

He'd make a great asset to that game company from Leamington Spa that can no longer be named, from that guy that can no longer be mentioned.

By strange coincidence, B**ce E*v*r*s* posted about Tim Langdell in this very thread, about 13 years ago:

Everything in the following post is just my opinion and constitutes fair comment. Nothing said constitutes a statement of fact. Don't believe what I have written, it could all be fiction.

As I have said before, I know the guy.

He is even a friend on Facebook, for what that is worth.

But then I told all my other Facebook friends about the Support Mobigames and Edge vs Tim Langdell Facebook group.

I don't want to get myself into a libel situation here but in the day the industry in the UK was a village and he wasn't exactly popular.

Possibly, and this is just opinion clouded by the mists of times, he acted with a certain arrogance as if he thought he was better than everyone else.

And the word got round about his reluctance to pay bills, especially to developers.

I think he may have got himself in an intellectual corner.

He earns money as a teacher which pays the bills.

But this is well below his own estimation of his self worth.

He still thinks he is better than everyone else. And that he is part of the industry.

So he rides the Edge trademark, which, let's face it can be construed as maybe being a little bit parasitic on the industry.

And maybe he needs to prevaricate and equivocate a little to keep it going.

Then by other people's apathy he worms himself onto the IGDA, which really boosts his ego and he flaunts it like crazy everywhere.

Then he oversteps the mark, gets caught out and, over time, his whole house of cards comes tumbling down.

He is now finished. Utterly, totally finished. Streisand Effect has been his undoing. He is now more famous for being a total and utter cock than he is for anything else. His epitaph, for ever, will be as a cock. It is too deeply embedded in the internet now for him ever to change this. And he hasn't realised this yet. He is in a hole and digging himself deeper into it. His only way out is to put his hands up and take the blame. And the Tim I know hasn't got the cojones for that.

He was easy to destroy precisely because he thinks he is better than everyone else. He is surprised and shocked when truly better people come along and expose him, because he doesn't believe that such people can exist.

And the IGDA is also finished. They have lost all credibility. We need a new organisation and it could very well be based round The Chaos Engine Website. But we definitely need a new organisation. At their best the IGDA did nearly nothing, so nobody will miss them. Everyone should just walk away from them with immediate effect.

All the above is pure opinion, constitutes fair comment and contains zero facts.

He's posted a few more times about him, he doesn't seem to like him very much.

Prophetic. Unless he was talking about Langdell.
