The never ending Edgeventures of Tim Langdell

Oh, for those keeping score: both parties have filed their final briefs and as usual Langdell's is full of bafflingly pseudolegal theories and Mobigame's is mostly them pointing out things he's done wrong or that make no sense, such as the failure to properly enter his own testimony into the record which I noted earlier.

You could just email this to HBO as a script, and they could go into production immediately with no changes. It's dynamite.

I really believe that's the one exhibit that is actually fake, what with the Gmail address and everything.

Which could be the case, but Langdell certainly doesn't help it when he starts a lengthy rant about a "frenchperson".

The whole thing is fucking amazing, and I have to thank Dr Timothy Langdell for his personal contribution to making life on the planet just a little bit more interesting.

That part about the authenticity of the email stands out as it's the only thing he's argued that seems convincing - it does look very much like a fake ('because I can winning' obviously doesn't sound like the sort of thing he or anyone with English as a first language would write) and his observations and objections on that seem, unusually, to the point. But he does choose to formulate some of those objections in such a delicious way.

Whoever wrote this is a crazy Frenchperson, and it certainly isn’t me.

Just classic, classic stuff from the mouth and brain of Ol' Timmy L which is a thing he'd never call himself.

Of course, in the twist at the end of Season 1, Episode 6 - the season closer - we'll see the back of a shadowy figure in Timothy's bedroom, in Timothy's bed. And the figure is talking to someone in a soft French accent, assuring him that "'Ol Timmy L won't be beaten down by them. Don' you worry my dear monsieur Langdell. You are invincible, my dearest one, mon petit soldat." And he'll turn slightly in bed, and we'll see by the profile of the mysterious silhouette that he's smiling, stroking his own arms gently, softly caressing himself into a profound and dreamless sleep whence recollection never comes.

I don't want to be a big downer, but I keep mentally coming back to the guy who was a comfortable professor with a side business in trademark trolling, who is now looking down about a million dollars in legal rulings and costs against him and (assuming Edge Games isn't the titan of industry it's made out to be) no real assets to pay them. If someone ever covers this in a serious way as a book or something it's going to be a tragedy.

Fuck him. He's a troll, who tried to make a living off a word, via the courts.
