The never ending Edgeventures of Tim Langdell

I'm laughing at the idea that someone's going to have to be an intermediary between two defendants who are so vehemently opposed to each other, one of whom thinks he's got the whole case figured out already. I'd like to be a fly in the wall on those meetings.

Langdell's continuing to file long, rambling texts arguing with Future, EA, and the USPTO, in spite of the case being frozen so no documents will be taken into consideration. Includes the famous last words "it is a common misconception amoungst attorneys that..."

Where would one gain access to such documents?

Three new Langdells today, including some intriguingly redacted and unredacted correspondence between Future's legal counsel and Tim Langdell. Presumably not something Future wanted in the public domain. Indicating (for example) that Future had an interest in encouraging Langdell to dispute EA's filings lest they interfere with Future's own Edge trademark. It would appear that EA and Future tried to negotiate some sort of settlement. Langdell then began to drag his heels resulting in some serious friction between him and Future over that "side-show", and worries that he was damaging their brand.

There's also a statement from Marvel quite unambiguously declaring that Langdell had nothing whatsoever to do with any of their comic books.

Langdell attempts to claim that the "Edge magazine" he doctored up was a real magazine that he published, because Future lacked the rights to publish such a magazine in North America (notwitstanding that the magazine has been on sale there for quite some time, which he also asserts).

EA has switched its legal representation from Cooley LLP - who represented them in the court case - to one of its in-house attorneys.

Is this EA in the UK? They have a couple of new lawyers there who joined recently - it's quite possible that they've now got capacity whereas they didn't before.

EA in the US. The attorney in question was interviewed recently by some of the industry press, so they're probably new in the role. It might be that Langdellgate convinced EA to bolster its IP protection, which seems to be this attorney's specialism.

It's been a long time since I updated the Chaos Edge site; but that's not to say that news about Langdell doesn't appear there.

The Tournament of Roses Association v. Rose City Enterprises

The Response does not indicate whether this is the same Dr. Tim Langdell of Pasadena, founder of video game developer Edge Games, who has been involved in several highly publicized trademark disputes in recent years.

wtf?!?! That guy/

Incidentally the USPTO has not been convinced by Langdell's arguments that the trademarks can't be surrendered, or that he can be joint representative for Future and himself (not being an attorney, he can only represent himself). So things are back in the same spot they were after he was first ordered to surrender the marks.
