Aye, lol. I had a bit of spare room in the corner there so I thought I'd start unboxing everything. Tried playing Monkey Island 2, but had to load through about 10 disks just to get the game going. Wings of Fury is all kinds of awesome though, as is Stunt Car Racer

Thanks to buying a house, and yesterday's acquisition of the mighty Grundig Megatron, I finally have a retro setup. The TV is ace - 28" 100hz 4:3 with VGA. The Dreamcast looks amazing through VGA.

Bit of a peek at some of the collection...

Okay. Been meaning to take a few pics for a while so here we go. Not everything I have as there is quite a bit scattered around the house. As you can see the CRT TV is a put awayable affair which comes out for anything pre dreamcast. The DC can run through the monitor but everything else goes through the CRT. Its also my wife's work desk you see. EEEEK!

Yay, finally set up in the new flat. Only thing not plugged into a screen right now it the N64 as it shares the scart with the Gamecube, until I can be bothered to find the other wire.

The N64 is hidden from view as it is zpushed back slightly on one of the shelves. Won't quite fit next to the Gamecube properly. Also Lucas just messed up the GBA games. All the handhelds are also in a draw for the time being until I put a shelf up above the TV.

Still need a Mastersystem, Saturn, XBOX in there.

How many games do you have need for a complete set?

There were 196 releases in the UK. I'm up to 179. The rest of the collection is made up of random Japanese games and some of the US-exclusives.

Collecting GG stuff is great - generally loose carts only sell for £1-£2. Well, the common ones do anyway.

Nice f'n setup here. Im in desperate need of such a hutch/cabinet to house all my consoles.

I honestly can't for the life of me remember where we got it from, it's going to be either IKEA or MFI (did they go bust?) and that would have been about 12-14 years ago. Sorry for the terribly delayed reply, only stumbled back on the post today.

I'm having trouble getting everything set up. The problem is that rather then devoting a spare bedroom to my setup, I'm having to share my small bedroom, which is being actually used as a bedroom, with all my consoles, and two tv's. So I've got a small corner to put everything in, limiting my choices for setup.

Those of you with kids will know how hard it is to conserve your gaming space. Recently reclaimed some of mine with a cubby hole here containing xbox and gamecube:-

And here, Megadrive with MS converter:-

Majority of games in a box in the garage alas:-

One day I shall have a gaming loft or room!

Redid my retro room with a new shelf to accommodate more 'live' machines.

Quite happy with that although the AES does take a little setting up to play. Saved space by having the GC way up high with a couple of wavebirds ready for action.

The purple box houses controllers. The wooden and leather box house GB and GBA games whilst the draws the whole lot is sitting on houses all my games. Well happy.

Yeah I know I could do with a special unit but being married with kids in a small house doesn't lend itself well to that type of thing. I was bloody lucky to swing that!

Rearranged slightly and the NES is in place now. Hooked some speakers up well to kick out those 16 bit cd soundtracks!
