Oh gawd, that looks incredible! One thing I was worried with the sequel was that it would still be set the middle East. Instead they have given us completely different locations. They have have me completely convinced they know what they are doing. Now wouldn't it be amazing, Rockband style, if you could import the original maps in to MW2. Oh man, I need another one of these;

erm.....why is this listed as £44.99? And that's £10 off the RRP according to Play.com. Have we time travelled back to the N64 era?

These are probably high placeholder prices in anticipation one of the biggest selling games of this year, take no notice- I doubt it's the official RRP

Aren't all 360 games supposedly RRP 44.99 and above? It's one of those unwritten rules that is never actually followed. Everyone will be selling it at sub 40 pounds come release day anyway, especially the online retailers, so I don't know what all the fuss is about.

Not much of a discount I know but the best deal I've found so far if you want to pre-order is going through Quidco to Game UK's website.

You get 9% off the full priced RRP which works out at £40.94 off plus even more of a discount if you've already got points with them, I think? (correct me if I'm wrong though!)

About the visuals I am satisfied more than ecstatic with what they put out in terms of the trailer perhaps because I wasn't expecting too much of a revolution in this area. My enthusiasm is more directed towards what sort of developments they are going to make in terms of shifting away from a reliance on scripted (the stupid infinite respawn events that was a consequence of with the poor difficulty scaling in 4) as well as in respect to what they have done in the less obvious graphical areas namely sweetly animated/mo-capped characters and well thought out set pieces that the series is famed for.

As solid as the singleplayer footage looked I'm more interested in it's multiplayer portion. Hopefully we'll learn more about that during E3. I clocked a ton of hours in the first game.

No, yeah of course I am excited about whether there is any substantial change to the perk system as regards multiplayer. Still don't think they'll follow the example of Halo 3 or L4D in terms of letting you invite the guest playing alongside you during multiplayer, not least for the technical headache including this feature this would be implementing this late into the dev process.

Also there's of course obvious pressure from a company like MS not wanting to give people this option for a game that sells in such a magnitude due to it effectively lessening the need for shelling out for another Live account and ultimately impacting on their main source of income - not that I think this would (in as significant way as they would make out anyway - or at least relative to the mountains of cash they stand to rake off a franchise like MW regardless) since people who want their own account will probably go out and buy a box obviously. I just think that this is just a useful general and harmless side-option that should be in most MP games if you ask me and I would love to see it in MW2 but for reasons stated is unlikely to make it.

Oh well I'll just have to settle for enjoy the screen all to myself like I usually do (not necessarily a bad thing though come to think of it :D)

Yeah but maybe not so much Ao2: Navy SEALS wear masks like that skull one, I think.

GIGN operators have worn similar for donkeys years. SEALS just wear a banda/ scarf over thier face (Rangers too if you go by Harsh Times with Christian Bale). The second pic just looks like a fur trimmed hood and a balaclarva on underneath (then again I'm viewing it on an iPhone).

I agree with Crispin, the graphics look terrible on that trailer. What's everyone getting so excited about?

They look like COD4 graphics- but with a tiny bit of extra polish. But COD4 was great, it might not look amazing in stills or even trailers, but the animation, set pieces, frame rate all add up to a very impressive game technically as well as play wise.

It' looks brilliant. Smooth, well proportioned and animated characters, detailed clean enviroments and lots of stuff going on.

Also look at it in high def/high res. It looks shitty in low res, far more than it should do.

COD4 was ok. The respawning enemies and shitty AI really took away from the brilliance of the set pieces for me. Shame, as that's the main draw for me in shooters.

I just hope they address those issues in this one.

I still stand by the graphics looking shite in that trailer though. Even in HD, the textures are shoddy, parts of the character models are disappearing through things, etc. I wouldn't have mentioned it if everyone wasn't creaming themselves over it though.

They've said there's no respawning which should improve things massively. I'm with you on the A.I., though, and I'll add that shooting bad guys was never satisfying. For basic gunplay, FEAR 2 blows it out of the water.
