Modern Warfare 2

Hopefully there'll be a way of deterring people from dropping out when they start to lose or get killed a couple of times too quick. Something along the lines of being tied to a chair and having their gonads fried with a live wire.

I played through War Pig today in slow motion with cluster bomb grenades. It was seven shades of amazing.

I could chuck all my other games in the bin, and I'd be happy playing COD 4 forever.

I know I probably sound like a broken record but that trailer made me even more dissappointed and wary.. I suspect that they have gone heavily in favour of using US units (were those SWAT teams!?) and not the SAS.

Man I'll be gutted if that's the case. Modern warfare was quite simply the best, most accomplished game I'd played for many a year.. and a lot of that was down to them capturing british special forces pefectly.

Hope I'm wrong..

Well you play as US Marines last time and SAS too.... imagine they'll stick to the same winning forumla but frankly I think it'd be good no matter what kind of special forces team you use such as US Navy Seals, Deltas, German GIGN... it all involves shooting people in the face so it's all good.

I just hope they sort out Host Switching without the game dropping out.

Like in Halo, the game may stutter for a second, or show the scoreboard for a few seconds as it selecs a new host. Instead of bumping back to the lobby, loosing the points your team has earned.

I've lost count how many times we are one/two kills away from a win in TD, and the host drops. Causing us to loose the team points and the match bonus.

The online system needs a lot of work.

It's never bothered me because the points are meaningless once you hit 55 and you've got all the unlockables. They need to come up with something better than Prestige Mode to keep the game exciting, though. I thought that was nuts; take all your guns and scopes and achievements and shit to change your icon people see in the lobbies? No thanks!

You're supposed to be able to customise the look of your characters now, right? If so I'd imagine Prestige would work much the same as before except you'd unlock a new suite of extra costume options. Although I'm not sure how far Infinity Ward would be willing to push the novelty factor; I can't imagine them taking the Metal Gear Online approach.

Nah not for me. MW was split pretty much 3/4 in favour of the SAS missions. And lets be frank, the SAS are simply out and out by far the coolest special forces with the possible exception of the SBS.. I'm tired of playing the same bs macho americans which was what made MW so different and fresh.

Anyway, obviously I'm in the minority.. :D

I don't think it really matters, the single player was an entertaining diversion and yes, the SAS levels were by far the best in the game, but it's all about the multiplayer for me.

I'm delighted they're moving away from the middle-east/russia settings, at least in part.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but the RRP on the main retailers websites for MW2 appears to be a quite staggering £54.99!! What's that all about??

maybe it comes with a plastic m16 peripheral
