FMJ kills through a wall are normally how you get extended mags I think.

Yeah, fucking tell me about it, getting extended mags for the M4 was the shittiest cunt of a grind ever. I used to always get bullet penetration kills, until I started trying to get that last unlock and then I just couldn't get any. Nearly killed any gaming love within me. Luckily Mass Effect 2 saved me :)

You can unlock Extended mags in 2-3 games of FFA by firing through the mesh fencing surrounding the generators, downstairs from the computer/server room. People pile in there constantly too.

Terminal is a good map too. I found that the key to getting extended magazines was changing your mindset on how you get bullet penetration kills. I think most people's natural instinct is to try and find people who are hiding behind cover and shooting them through that cover when the easiest way is to find something you can stand behind to shoot through and get people who are out in the open. Glass windows at the start of rounds are good. Shooting into spawn points (especially the black "windows" on either side of Highrise is good too, but you will find you might need to be in a team capable of spawn trapping for that.

Encountered a new breed of cheat today. His claymores persisted after he died and respawned, but best of all, he had the ability to tac' knife from 30 yards away. Not lunge or anything, just knife at distance. Quite bizarre. Can't find an honest game today.

Having come back to MW4.2 after a break of 6 months or so it depresses the shit out of me that Infinity Ward never sorted this shit out. I just tend to stick to the barebones gaming modes (though you still get twats boosting for head shots).

We can discuss this and your pathetic K/D ratio tomorrow Mr Blue.

After a short spell of feeling OK about MW2, I'm back to hating it again. The last few days have been full of rippers and I can't work out how to combat them. In a good non-ripper filled game, I can get a 4-5:1 K/D, but when playing against a team of rippers (or even just three on the the other side), it drops to 1:1-2.

My regular class is Aug/AA12/Scavenger/Stopping Power/Dead Silence with a backup of ACR/Scav/Cold Blooded/Dead Silence. Would an SMG class help? I don't have one because I find it takes so many shots to kill anyone on Normal.

A silenced TAR-21 will drop them quicker than either an Aug or an ACR, though I prefer the AA-12 for rippers. Just feels good to send the fuckers flying backwards. Akimbo G18s would be pretty handy against them also, I would imagine. Ironically, I always found it better to stand out in the open in TDM when there were a lot of rippers, as you can hear them coming and they can't get the drop on you.

Just started playing this after a 5 or 6 month break. After playing BF2, it took a while to get used to the controls (I keep knifing thin air instead of crouching. FUCK!), but my aiming is still tight as fuck. Good ol' silenced TAR-21.

Anyone planning any games soon? I need to play some people who aren't 12 year old American boys.

You could try an MP5k with Steady Aim. It's an absolute beast from the hip at close quarters. It's a two bullet kill with stopping power and it has a very high rate of fire.

I think I'm done with this now.

I saw a killcam that was a sniper kill through a wall. To be fair the guy did have time to line it up so I don't think he was cheating. But still, fuck that.

I've killed plenty of people through walls, with Assault Rifles & Sniper Rifles. You just judge where people are likely to be if you've just seen someone at a window/door. FMJ helps, but normal rounds will pass through thinner surfaces.

I'm just a two weeks into it after playing loads of BF2. Funny being able to go prone again :) What's your gamer tag and what sort of game types do you play?

Finally managed to take down an AC-130 with a predator missile. Would never even have occurred to me to try it before seeing Sandy Ravage do it. Felt good, and the guy controlling it must have wondered what the hell happened, given that he had barely fired a shot with it.
