Re Capt Price,

he was in COD2 wasn't he? That doesn't exactly make sense, so maybe he'll be in this, Cod4 price's brother or something?

Yeah he was, wasn't he. I thought as the credits were rolling they had like an RTS view animation of some boys going into rescue him. Unless I am mistaken and that was the orginal.

We did, unless they've set the game before the events of MW. I hope so anyway, having Gaz and Pricey back would make me all

NSMW?

Or they could quite easily have flashback levels again, like all ghillied up/one shot one kill. Anyway I'd like to see a scenario for this which doesn't involve battles in Russia or the Middle East.

Combat Arms is good fun but the spawning is laughably bad.

As long as this is still largely SAS or SBS then I'm in.

However.. if they changed them to some rubbish seals or something like that, then they can go screw themselves..!

Does anyone know if this has been confirmed or not?

Scans there. Havent read it but apparantly contains the following (maybe spoilers):

-No coop

-Special Forces mode, several missions in the spirit of Mile High Club

-More open ended gameplay

-No infinitely respawning enemies

- Swimming mode enabled.

- A 'Stealthy' Oil pipeline Scuba Mission will be included in campaign mode.

- A level will definetly be based in Rio De Janeiro.

- Siberian Level will feature in campaign mode.

- Vehicles (e.g. Trucks, Tanks etc.) will be introduced into the Modern Era.

- A 'Helicopter Based' Level will be featured.

- An Oil Tanker level will also be featured.

- Ken Lally (Wesker from Resident Evil 5) will be voice acting. Most likely as a Russian villain.

Another overview of the article:

Soap is in the game as a "grizzled vet" NPC.Single player enemies will have "customized" weapons similar to the multiplayer component of COD4.The ice mission shown to GI demonstrated the game's open-ended approach to combat, showing how stealth can be implemented if the player chooses. While the gameplay is open-ended, the story is "on-rails".Infinity Ward realizes that the "invisible line" where enemies will stop coming in COD4 wasn't great, so they're trying hard to eliminate that. Also, they are lengthening the single player past the 6-10 hour mark of COD4."Special Forces Mode" is a major part of MW2, a series of missions in the spirit of the Mile High Club from COD4. It will also have co-op in this mode. Gears-style bleed-out-and-partner-revive will be used.Co-op apparently won't exist in Story Mode.Riot shields will be implemented in the game.Zakhaev's former associate, Makarov, is the "new face of global terrorism."Snowmobiles are used as a form of escape in the demonstration. Unclear whether or not the player will drive, shoot, or both.Players will alternate using the two triggers to climb ice-walls.Movable turrets will be used in SF mode and Single Player, no official word on online use.IW wants to implement an accomplishment system to online, as they want to make their players famous.Online mode will use a "Live-Patching" system, where IW can manipulate spawn logic or certain parts of a multiplayer map without doing a full-blown patch.Another demoed area shows an enormous desert setting where Task Force 141 drops into a wasteland and must navigate a "lengthy trek" to a fully-rendered valley with scattered caves, reminiscent of Iron Man.IW is focusing on details for the COD4 sequel, citing iced-up tire treads in the Russian level. The game will run in 60fps (duh)

No co-op mode for the MAIN single player campaign is a GOOD THING.

IW realise that shoe-horning in co-op into everything isn't a good idea.

Don't make excuses on their behalf, there is absolutely no reason why there shouldn't be SP co-op and personally I think it is an absolutely criminal omission from all the CODs to date (the crappy 5 excluded). Can they really get away with not having that in these days?

I mean I can understand they are under time constraints, but i'd much rather they delayed the game a year and included some extra stuff like the co-op.

Co-op removes immersion from single player stuff. Imagine how less scary Dead Space would be co-op. As crap as I thought the CoD4 campaign was with its respawning and corridors (something this looks like it may improve on, finally), it was at least dripping with atmosphere. Playing alongside someone I can imagine we'd have spent the whole time moaning about the respawning whilst playing on a higher difficulty level instead of just waltzing through along it on a lower difficulty like it's meant to be played, actually enjoying it.

They've made the mini-missions co-op and the endless hours we'll spend on multiplayer are a co-op experience. The one player will be a solid 10 hour action film with a strong narrative. Co-op seems inappropriate to me. The fact it's there for the mini-missions but not the campaign tells me it's a design decision.
