Introduce them to Mr AA12.

Exactly what I was going to say, and I'm really rubbish at working out how to counter-act classes.

AA12 with a grip is an absolute monster.

Also, grenade launcher with Danger Pro-allows you to get them from a distance, and it'll kill them with a direct jit if they're really close-"pa-tufffff, umph"

While I'm pretty decent with a gun, I truly suck at noob toobing. Those grenades almost always explode somewhere near the target without killing him. Ah well, I much prefer shotgunning peeps anyway.

Sleight of hand and danger close should sort you out.

Noobtubing takes a while to get used to, but once you have the hang of it it's absolutely lethal. I pretty much used danger close with a noobtube and an AT-4 for almost an entire prestige. I have over 1000 kills with the AT-4 now, it's crazy-good with danger close. If you know the vague area an enemy is in you're guaranteed a kill.

I'd say one of the key things about noobtubing is elevation. If the enemies are above you, it becomes very difficult to do successfully (unless they are inside and you can explode it on the ceiling). Therefore, if you plan to use the noobtube, always try and maintain the high ground on maps, so you can rain down death from above. This is particularly true of maps like Favela and Estate.

It's all about parabolas, after a few games forcing yourself to only use the 'tube you can begin to pull off more and more difficult shots.

Sleight of hand and danger close should sort you out.

Forget slight of hand, you need either scavenger or one man army. If you don't have a means to get more grenades then Danger Close is wasted after your initial two shots.

This video sums up Danger Close pro. It makes Claymores loads more powerful and grenade launcher ridiculous. And on top of all that, it makes the air support even better, watch the chopper gunner. He gets over 100 kills and the game doesn't even end. It's borderline broken, and is broken when used with One man army.

I've got into the sniping on this now, after the discussion of the various merits of the rifles a few pages back. To pick a sniper rifle you really do have to understand the gun chart above.

I tried a full stealthy setup with the M21 (two shot kills always). It's decent mid-range, but pretty hopeless long-range. Even though the M21 has the least recoil, it's still way too much to land two shots on your target. Only the doziest of players won't duck out of sight after the first round hits.

So I've moved onto a semi-stealthy set-up - WA2000 with silencer and Stopping Power. This has the big advantage of being one-hit-kill to head and torso. That's a decent-sized target area if you have the time to line up a shot on a stationary enemy, meaning it's far better for long-range sniping.

Crucially, the decent chance of a one-hit-kill and the low recoil of the WA2000 means you can quickly drop multiple enemies at mid-range if you happen to catch a bunch of them in your sights on a map like Terminal. I got a couple of Double Kills last night. This would be much harder to do with a stealthy M21 setup or the mega-recoil Barrett.

Yus, my sniping improved hugely when I switched to the WA2000, and now I have a crafty X-Ray scope for it. Only thing with the thermal scope is that it's an absolute nightmare on Derailed, and two of my classes now have one on the primary.

Except I'm in the middle of a self-imposed seven day ban.

You'll be shit when you go back and be annoyed you took a break. Just play the game.

Nah, I actually got better while I was away for Christmas. I slowed down and stopped running right into the whole enemy team over and over. Now I'm within spitting distance of closing the gap to 1.0 kill ratio, despite the fact I never really get kill streak rewards like proper players.

I always have scavenger equipped when using danger close and taking a grenade launcher with me, but if you suck at aiming, sleight of hand lets you pop off that second shot before the enemy has a chance to recover/escape. It's pretty useful if you're not that accurate or don't know exactly where the enemy is.

Ah but on the headphones even the shit and hot can make out the noises- it is very distinct because its pumped directly into your ears:D

I've got a set of the Turtlebeach X41s and I have to admit, i tend to play better with them on than using my surround sound. It is so easy to hear when someone is running round a corner, and alot of the time you can hear exactly where people are coming from.

Does anybody know how the angle the Predator missile approaches the map is generated? Is it the same every time? Does it depend on which way the player is facing? (etc)

Nah. I've no way of knowing this, but I suspect there's a virtual Predator constantly circling the map, so that at the time you open the laptop you get the view from wherever it currently is. It's must be invisible, as I've never of one being shot down with a Stinger.

(This seems to be how it works in the campaign when you can launch its missiles freely, so I'm applying the same logic.)

Spetsnaz (Russian language):

Spyshka (pronounced spish-kah) = Flash (Grenade)

Granatu = Grenade

Brasayu Stun Granatu = Throwing Stun Grenade

Zarizhayus’ = Reloading (It sounds like they’re pronouncing it zeer-you-shy-us)

Prekroi Menya; Mne nado perezaridit'sya = Cover me; I have to reload

Vrag Ubit = Enemy killed (A lot of people think they’re saying “Barack O.B.” - nope, the “a” in “Vrag” sounds like a short “o.”

Tsel' Unechtozhen = Target destroyed

Militia (Portuguese language):

Me de cobertura, estou recarregando = Cover me, I'm reloading!

Alvo neutralizado! = Target Down

Alvo atingido = Target Hit

Trocando de arma = Changing weapon (Note that this should mean changing magazine, or reloading.)

There’s also apparently a glitch in the voices in multiplayer when it comes to the Militia. Whenever one of the Militia throws a flashbang, they yell, “Aapareceu derrepente!” = Instantly appeared!

In the game, whenever a Militia member throws a frag grenade, they inappropriately yell, “Atirando uma granada de luz" = Throwing a flash grenade. Apparently, it should be corrected to “Atirando uma granada de mão.” = Throwing a frag grenade.

Then, when characters go to plant a claymore, the Militia says, "Golpeando com espada." = Slashing with sword. I guess there isn't a word in Portuguese for a Claymore mine? They instead used the Portuguese word for a Claymore - the Scottish two-handed sword.

OpFor (Arabic)

(Old note: All that I’ve been able to dig up about OpFor is that OpFor is an abbreviation for Opposing Force. They are apparently operating out of Afghanistan, so the language could be one of many... They’re the ones with everybody’s favorite phrase, “Tango, Sukkah (close spelling).” Of course, that probably means “Tango down.” I’ll see if I can find out what language that is. The official languages of Afghanistan are Persian (Dari), Pashto, Uzbek, and Turkmen, while there are a dozen or so minor languages also spoken, including Balochi, Pashayi, Ashkunu, Kamkata-viri, Vasi-vari, Tregami, Kalasha-ala, Shughni, Munji, Ishkashimi, Wakhi, Brahui, Hindko, and Kyrgyz. More than likely, the language we are hearing OpFor use is either Dari or Pashto, or Farsi or Arabic.

If anyone knows for sure, please enlighten us. And if any of you speak Portuguese or any of the above mentioned languages, please help us compile our Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Dictionary! (I’ll be making a better, solid thread out of this once we get everything together!)

EDIT 1.8.09 - Thanks to Cam_79, we can confirm that OpFor is indeed speaking Arabic. Below are the translations we’ve gained to our dictionary thanks to Cam!

Tango sakat = Tango down. The literal translation of "Sakat" is “Fell”

Baghayir makhzan = Changing Magazine. Note that "makhzan" isn’t the exact translation for “magazine.” It actually means, "storage," but in this situation it stands-in for magazine.

Ihmeeni ba'abi makhzan = Cover me, "refilling" magazine.

Ba'abi = Reloading. It litterly means, “Filling Up” Not Barbie, or Bambi, unfortunately. =)

Sakat al hadif = Target Down. Not “Suck it, Van Halen!” (also unfortunately!)

Romana! = Grenade. The literal translation is Pomegranite. Cam said that he’s not sure if this is what is actually said ,but he’s heard people refer to grenades as pomegranites due to thier shape.

Barmy Romana! = Throwing Grenade
