If I went 30/28 it would mean I was rushing about like a loon (as opposed to getting a streak and going 30/3 which I can occasionally do), and I don't have the reactions for that type of play. I have a mate who likes to run and gun, and he gets away with it, but usually our overall Kill-minus-Death figure is about the same.

Incidentally it's not like I camp to get 12-5, I just move more cautiously because I don't have crazy FPS skills. I'm happy to go on the offensive, but in a considered manner rather than rushing around the corner into a shotgun, which doesn't seem brave, just stupid.

I'm exactly the same - I know that if I'm a very high kill count and my deaths are similar I know I've basically been outclassed and I find myself in and endless loop of trading kill for death. My fingers just don't work quick enough... Curse my fat chipolatta fingers.

Yes there's always one or two. I love blasting them to bits with a shotgun or the AUG.

I once managed to shoot down an AC 130 a few seconds after it spawned, which must have really pissed the guy off. Sheer fluke I think, the stinger I fired must have taken a route which avoided the chaff.

Having alot of success on FFA with the rpd at the moment, I've been used to the scar for so long but it's so good not having to worry about reloading constantly, the clip is huge. Can easily get 5 or 6 quick kills without getting caught out with an empty gun. Recoil is not great but the grip sorts that out, and with slight of hand pro and stopping power it's geting me 1st or 2nd nearly every game.

Finally dumped the care package from my killstreak set as well, it was pissing me off when I would constantly call it in only to get killed and the package stolen all the time, though I guess that is more my fault.

How do you unlock new killstreak rewards by the way, I'm level 46 or so now but still only have half of the rewards unlocked?

Akimbo G-18's as backup sort them out pretty easily... won't get anywhere near you with those babies on reserve...

Ahh man, I love this game so much.... been giving TDM a blast.... on some sucky side.. loosing heavily.. carrying these buggers by myself, got a nice killstreak going, ac-130 up and on the Afghan level Managed to pull the game round and pretty much win it singly handedly.. something silly as well for me, 28 kills to 2 deaths

i dont think they are, if they are it hasnt made a difference. people still firing from miles away getting kills.

Because the nerf has done nothing if you use Bling with Akimbo and FMJ. I have been without the internet for a week, mind, so maybe they've patched it.

I reckon that they've increased the spread. That video showed a window getting smashed but it wouldn't kill a person if that makes sense. I've used the shotguns with FMJ and they don't kill nearly as well. Of course they'll still kill if the person has you in the middle of the screen close-up, they're shotguns, but I'd say they're the second worst choice after the ranger now. Other than the SPAS 12 all the other shotguns fire a lot faster than them two.

Do many people still play MW1 online or has everyone moved onto 2 now? This is the first cod game I've played and I love it so much I want to try the previous one, but does it still have some online activity on the 360?

MW1 is still very healthy, you can easily still get full games. It was 4th on the last top 10 of most played games Major Nelson posted (14th Dec)

Enemy team called in a harrier so i switched to my stinger/cold blooded to take it out. As i'm taking aim a pave low comes in. So I switch my attentions as that is the bigger threat and I only have two rockets. Fire off my first rocket and the pave low chafs it. However the missile spins off course and takes out the harrier and pavelow simultaneously. Sweet

Amaze! I was chuffed when one of my flared stingers took out another player but that's fantastic.

Holy fucking shit. Thought i'd play ripper class for a laugh on Highrise, and just went 25 and 1 somehow. 3 Predators, a care package, then a chopper gunner. Amaze. Went into one of the bases because I saw a load of red dots on UAV and for some reason pretty much all their team was in there looking through the skylight, even though I swear we had no air support up at the time. Got about 5 kills just from knifing (none of them bothered to look down) then they respawed again in the base and stormed in pretty much in a line, and about 3 got cut down by my puny P90. I swear some people just play this game to be cannon fodder.

I prefer stripped down experiences over something like MW2. I still play Black Arrow on Xbox 1 a few hours every week and my playtime is nearing 1k hours.

It's so much better balanced than almost every other game out there. Particularly so because there are no power weapons - in Gears and Halo people rush certain areas of the map and it gets very repetitive, and whomever gets those weapons often has a distinct advantage. With MW2 you choose how you want to play, and move about the map accordingly and then in response to the opposition. There's far more ebb and flow than other similar games in my experience, and I'm not remotely bored of it after over 125 hours.

In a sense, though, that is a good thing because in non-objective games there's still a focal point or a choke in the map with which you can devise a strategy or plan.

I'm just as much at fault for this as any other player but even in team games people are spread out so much that there's bugger all predictability and the best tactic you have is to just find a quiet place to hide out or go lone wolf around the map. It's not like in Counter Strike where you'd have very specific and regular points in a map where the two sides reach stalemate, prompting you to do a bit of quick thinking to get the upper hand.

In some ways COD's team matches seem a bit more frantic. It's good and bad in equal measure, but I think I'm more inclined to dislike COD because I can't get away with my balls-out offensive tactic as much as I can in other games (like Rainbow Six, where going gung ho would take many people by surprise).

The toobs are ridiculous. When I'm not in the mood to play properly I use my tube class and find it cleans up, especially with DCP and chopper gunner. Love nabbing those first blood kills by casually lobbing a nade roughly where you know the enemy will be right after spawn.

I spent 39 days on Cod4!

Went back to it yesterday and as i'd feared its a bit...boring compared to MW2. We raped of course, but all it really is is an automatic weapon and grenade simulator. You options now feel incredibly limited and I was played out in very few rounds.

Crash is horribly broken on domination, downpour is horribly broken on headquarters and the whole thing is a nade spamming nightmare.

That said, maps like district, pipeline and overgrown still play brilliantly. I just dont think its a patch on MW2

So I've reached that terrible stage of the multiplayer: Level 70. How badly is not prestiging frowned upon? Does anyone really care? I don't feel like doing it. For a start, I still have many weapons usnused and challenges I haven't met, and five custom class slots are enough for me. On the other hand, I doubt it would make much difference to my KDR, I'd just go to my trusty Marathon-Lightweight-Commando back-up and stab everyone exclusively for 30 or so levels.

I very much doubt it. I prestiged for the second time last night, and will do again, but that's because I want the additional class slots. The prestige emblems themselves just make me feel incredibly sad - I've sunk five days in to this game! They're like a badge of shame.

I'm with you there pink, especially the fuckwits who think its appropriate to look like an utterly mindless freak with tourettes with the loadout you mentioned fixing people with semtex continually - I got him once but he just kept sticking me with, him with his infuriatingly sticky ways. On an unrelated topic does anyone find the TMP at all useful since I find it all but impossible to secure a kill with this thing without my having to reload my magazine. I want to use it as a neat rapid fire secondary but because of this don't think it will end up getting much use.

I've been finding this unplayable lately, thurs/friday night I couldn't get a lag free game and gave up after a while.

Tried again this morning and every game I had to quit out.

Is anyone else in the same boat? PS3 version. I'm up to 69 and only need a few XP points to prestige!

I've not got the PS3 version, but might be a NAT issue? I would be surprised if there aren't thousands of people playing at any given time.

I maxed out the UMP last night, first weapon I've done that on. Stupidly, I thought the extra mags wouldn't be something you had to equip... Having bling and scavenger on the same tier is such a tease, I'd desperately like to have the red dot + silencer on the UMP but without scavenger, the claymores are pretty limited for my campy gamestyle. Final build is therefore, UMP + silencer, claymores and stinger, perks: scavenger / cold blooded and ninja. With that build, you almost want the other team to get a UAV up or for there to be lots of people using the HBS. I guess I could swap out the stinger for a shotgun or something, but it pisses me off when people don't shoot down air support and if you're on a good kill streak / camping somewhere, it can be quite a while before you die and get a chance to swap to an AA class.

i got so many sticky kills yesterday, i never seem to get them! but each semtex i threw just seem to hit someone, threw one out a doorway JUST as someone walked by and stuck him, one guy i made sure i got - i was on highrise and saw the red dot in the corner from my UAV, threw flashbangs round and then held the semtex in my hand as i went round the corner - semtex stuck on your nose! xD

that's what you get for camping in a corner and being boring!
