Just went 5-0 on Estate after about a minute, ran down to the power station, got the Predator missile out and got a QUAD with it. Then the fucking host ragequits and the session ends as the game didn't want to migrate host.

:(

My theory on that happening is the person switching their 360 off or signing out of Live, thus preventing the host migration from occurring. Bastards.

I've not used the ACR yet, the damage looked shit on it so I never bothered. But its a bit frustrating that the SCAR-L has such a shit clip size.

the stats on those bars ingame are very misleading. The ACR does have a lower damage per individual bullet than some of the other assault rifles, but it's rate of fire is so high and it's so bloody accurate (it has virtually zero recoil) that it's damage per second is actually very high. It's an awesome gun.

Anyone else use a full stealth set up? It won't generally get you the most kills on your team but it is bloody satisfying to be sneaking about. Currently I've got the UMP + silencer, scavenger (for the claymores basically), coldblooded and ninja. I tend to play domination, so at the start of the round I'll generally head straight towards the edge of the map and make my way round to the other team's first point and hopefully cause some mischief. It's always difficult to choose between scavenger or bling so that you can take the silencer plus a decent scope but I find if you only can lay one claymore, they become quite limited. It's pretty much how I played COD4 too, MP5 + silencer + UAV jammer, lots of fun, particularly if you're quite happy to defend (camp) an area.

What piece of equipment, perk or gun changes the game for you- makes the difference between playing terribly and well or being awkward and being comfortable?

For me its claymores- esp with scav or one man army. Without them I feel helpless, like no one is there to get my back. I feel awkward and stay constantly on the move never knowing where to settle to get a kill or where to move on. I end up rushing which leads me to dying which leads me to bad spawns in the middle of a clusterfuck and it becomes a vicious circle. They make my playstyle for me. After hitting first prestige I was doing pretty badly- I've even had negative games recently- a LOT. Shit like 8-14 scores would be typical

But I hit lv 31 again today and it all changed, got 8-1 as I eased back into taking the game slowly and avoiding death, then got my highest streak on underpass (27-0) and after that stayed consistently positive. Once I know I have one or two claymores covering me, I can shoot and aim down a certain part of the map with more confidence, without having to turn around and constantly observe my back and the minimap to make sure I don't get caught out. It lets me control the space I occupy. Without them I would be honestly totally and utterly useless at the game.

It's like a bullet hose that works at an amazing distance.

Use the ACR. All things considered, it's the best AR in the game. I'm using SCAR atm but you do need to run scavenger with it.

Heartbeat sensor on my assault rifles which i feel a bit bad about. I would probably play better if i used something else and just had UAV on 3 but i need the heartbeat sensor now or i prang

Just had my first ever flawless match, 14 and 0. Fucking hell the AUG HBAR is beastly, all you need is a grip and you're good to go. With heartbeat you're unstoppable. Previous game I went 28 and 1 on Skidrow and even the one death was by a flukey spawned enemy.

ACR is also excellent with an ACOG, very little recoil or wobbling about, which makes it pretty much as good as a sniper rifle on the more open maps. Great weapon.
It's my favourite gun in the game by an absolute mile. It's incredibly accurate at pretty much any realistic range.

Dagnammit I'll give it a go then

I have the Fabrication perk so I can make my own ammuntiicon. the only fucker is I can't find any brass tubing and rubber hose mid game :(

I've become too bloody reliant on HB sensor (finds me pencils). I hated the idea of it at first (thats not proper!!!) but its just insane on some maps. Going back to a regular loadout and I'm fucking usless. I needz ma h4ck$.

Anyone else never use added scopes such as Red Dot or ACOG? Once you get use to iron sights they are amazing in my opinion. Before I'd normally use a red dot and if I wanted a silencer I'd have to sacrifice Scavenger Pro for Bling Pro, which was a pain in the backside when on large killstreaks. But since trying iron sights I can easily roll with a silencer and keep my scavenger. It's hard to tell with all of the newer players, but I'd say it has gone along way to pushing my K/D over the 3.00 mark.

Defs; I think I'm better with the SCAR iron sights than I am with any red dot. Limiting and challenging yourself makes you a better player I think. One thing tht's massively improved since CoD4 is my accuracy, purely due to me no longer using Deep Imact (FMJ). Before I'd always naturally aim for the chest/midriff, now I pull off a huge number of headshots due to getting better at aiming at people's heads when they're behind cover. (On CoD 4 I'd just shoot through the cover). 3 is impressive though! I'd like to know what mine is for the past two weeks, it's shot up since the christmas buyers came on.

I just grenade launched someone in the back as they were lying prone and unlocked the 'Noob Tube' title :(

I also managed to contract the 'STD' title from someone I shot

Just came off from an hour of a pretty amazing run with few deaths and lots of kills overall. Pushed my accuracy up to 23.15% :hat:

Anyone else getting awful lag tonight? I just hopped on and every game so far, almost everyone is on 3 bars or less all the time :/

And another vote here for never using sights or scopes. Fuck that. Iron sight is far better than red dot or holographic will ever be, can't see shit out of those. As if the visibility on most of the maps wasn't bad enough already.

Tacticle Insertion is shit, compared to KZ2 anyway, I mean it's pointless. Why waste a kill from a claymore/grenade on that when you can get to the location in seconds?

Totally disagree. the kill i get from the claymore grenade does nothing compared to the 4 or 5 kills i get by spawning behind enemy lines, or the points i save by stopping the team from reaching the objective. TI is poor on team deathmatch and headquarters, but on domination, ctf and demolition it is more or less essential IMO

Hmmm, I am turning the mid/late 20's into a total slog. I think I need about 60 kills on my UMP 45 for 20,000 XP and a sweet new title. I need about 25 FMJ kills to unlock extended magazines and have 9/9 attatchments for the gun.

The problem is bloodyfucking heartbeat sensors. I hate heartbeat sensors more than anything else in the game currently. I hate the cunts who use them and I wish nasty things upon them and their familes. Its balls that there is literally no way to counter them until you unlock Ninja at level 29. The game encourages you to play SMG, yet it completely fucks you over if you want to flank as there is a super hard counter to your game which the people who like to sit back will take, and there is fuck all you can do about it.

It is actually affecting my game because I spend more time worrying about the prick on the other team with a TV bolted onto the side of his gun than I do about his mates. Again, I find myself complaining about the schedule of unlocks because while the guns are pretty balanced throughout, later unlocks arent nessicarily better, they are just different, Perks do seem like they could have used a bit more thought, you are completely fucked with a lack of options if you happen to be below level 30. You dont realise this the first time round, but its massively obvious after prestiging. Maybe I am just complaining because I die to heartbeat sensors more than any single other thing in the game, or that my personal preferences are unavailable to me, but to be in a postion where you are utterly fucked if somebody on the other team likes looking at red dots on minimaps (either on the HUD or on his gun) seems grossly unfair. You are at a huge disadvantage under level 30 because you are so weak to air support and things that give your location away to the enemy.

Sleight of hand pro :)

I do love those claymores... not quite as much as you an imp though! That long stretch before cold blood, stingers and claymores is always a pain.

What guns are you using, Pootle, for that accuracy? That's pretty impressive. Mine's steadily decreasing from an obsession with FMJ kills with the L86

EDIT:

@ Nayson, i tend to find moving quickly and unpredictably is a good enough counter for the sensors. Their scan rate is slooooowww, partly the reason i don't bother with them. It's like looking into a time machine.

It's why I never prestiged and never will.

I've done it once but probably never again! Plus I own it on two formats so I've done the painful climb to level 30 (when all the good shit unlocks after that) three times now. I think I've had enough of that

I love the Heartbeat Sensor! I find it impossible to equip a load out without it.

It's stupid really, because whenever I've been forced to drop it due to a new gun I really enjoy the change in play style, and I do just as well without it, but as soon as I unlock it back it goes. I think it's just because it makes the hunt quicker, I'm not patient enough to leave it in the cupboard.

I love people who use the sensor, they become so used to chasing the red dots that they miss people like me with Ninja, sometimes running right past me even though I'm in plain sight. Some of the easiest kills I've ever had.

What am I doing wrong with the SPAS 12? I am getting hitmarkers all the time, it's pretty much the norm in fact, even at point blank range. I'm four kills from a grip, but the gun is turning kills into deaths as people have time to turn around and shoot me after my SPAS fails again to kill them. I am not shooting from any kind of distance btw.

I think I'm pretty much dependent on Scavenger Pro now. I just can't live without the extra ammo at the start and constant claymores.

I'm currently rank 57 (the first time round) and play 99% of my games with this setup:

Scavenger Pro

Stopping Power Pro

Ninja Pro

ACR w/ Red Dot Sight

M1014 Shotgun w/ Grip (for when I'm indoors. It's frighteningly good)

Claymores

Stun Grenades

UAV

Predator Missile

Harrier

I had never played a COD game before and so my k/d ratio was truly awful from when I was getting slaughtered at first but, thanks to this setup, I've managed to claw it back to 0.96 and rising. The best I've managed in TDM with this is a 26 kills 3 deaths round and I think my best streak is 17.

I  this game.
