I'm very new to this, having never played the first one. had a couple of team deathmatches online but I have no idea what is going on. Coming from Halo 3 it's a totally different beast.

Finding it all a bit bewildering right now to be honest.

Not sure if I like this kill cam jobber though, what is the point of it other than to give away your location?

Build up the Famas until you have ACOG sights and Motion Sensor. Thats the closest you are going to get to a battle rifle.

The kill cam is useful for seeing how you died, it highlights the tactical errors, although a lot of the time it just seems to highlight just how much latency was involved.

It's also useful for ambushing people. Sit in one place for a few seconds, than loop round away from it and by the time you get back the fella you just killed will be there trying to hunt you down, and you can shoot him in the face again.

I did this three times on Wasteland night before last, to the same person.

The Kill Cam just rocks. It's especially good if you're using Last Stand, of course, as you get to enjoy killing your killer through their eyes. And nothing beats the payback message popping up while you watch if you've claymored them after death...

hmmmm...

strange, i finished the sp on sunday, turned it back on today to play spec ops and it landed me back at the last part of the sp campaign... :twisted:

credits are rolling again now so will have a go at spec ops to see if that makes it change/save anything.

At the main menu, there are 3 categories to choose from: Spec Ops, Campaign and Multiplayer. You must have chosen Campaign instead of Spec Ops. :D

Spec ops is great fun, esp in co op. Took an hour out a few days back to finally bust those 10 juggers in favela, was ridiculously hard. Oft used tactic was when one of us went down the other would leg it round the block to try and shake the juggerdemz off for a few seconds to revive the other. I do wish more levels were designed from the ground up like Mile High Club rather than just being part of the SP levels reworked though

I'd probably say Favela is my most loathed map; absolutely hate playing on that one and will skip it due to my general crapness on it.

Rust is plain shit. Didn't like Shipment on COD4, I'm not a fan of this. Wasteland would've figured here, but I've adopted a different approach to the map now and in my last few games I've faired much better and am slowly growing to like it.

Afghan, Karachi, Skidrow, Sub-base, Invasion and Terminal are favourites, and Underpass is quickly figuring too, due to a nice Thermal setup I use on that.

Derail, Quarry and Rundown I can take or leave.

I'm really not impressed with the maps on MW2 compared to COD4. I really miss Crash for a start... I suppose Afghan, Sub-Base and Invasion are good and I really enjoy Terminal but a lot of the others are just fftttttttt. Can you see them releasing a classic map pack at some point?

Afgan - 3/5 I'm not a big fan of this level to be honest. It's alright but maybe I just haven't played enough to enjoy it that much.

This is 5/5 for me, probably my favourite. The trick is to set your killstreaks for anything that hangs in the air and shoots, so, Harrier, Pavelow, AC130 and they just clean up because 90% of the level is open sky.

The panic when you have Harriers AND Pavelow tends to make people too scared to come out the caves to take either down. When the gunship comes in they're all doomed. :twisted:

I'm surprised so many people enjoy Afghan, I find it pretty tedious. I'm never a fan of levels that are almost entirely a single colour for a start, and it's one of those maps that encourages people to constantly tube.

There's nowhere near enough cover for the open spaces too, making the largest part of the map just suicide, which for me seems pointless. Even on other 'open' maps like Derailed and Wasteland there's still trees and grass which at least obscure visibility when you're moving about, on Afghan you're encouraged to either find yourself a sneaky corner (which I never do) or inevitably get shot in the back.

I’m not crazy about Underpass, I don’t know it well enough and I’m still getting lost if I respawn in an unfamiliar area. I still love Terminal, High Rise, Sub Base, Derail, Afghan and Rust. I get Skid Row, Karachi and Run Down mixed up the whole time.

Does anyone how long it was after the launch of COD 4 before new maps were released?

Just went 5-0 on Estate after about a minute, ran down to the power station, got the Predator missile out and got a QUAD with it. Then the fucking host ragequits and the session ends as the game didn't want to migrate host. :angry:

It happens so often :(

Yes. If Danger Close Pro is on when you call it in then it's boosted. You can One Man Army your way across to a Danger Close Pro class before calling it in too. Same with non-controllable stuff too like Harriers, switch to a DCP class, call it in, then switch back while it's still going and it'll stay stronger. Or switch to a hardline class to get your next killstreak quicker!

My main class at the moment is Bling Pro, Stopping Power Pro and Last Stand Pro, weps are ACR with HS and Red Dot sight, Raffica with FMJ and Holo sight. Oh, and claymores and stun / flash grenades.

I keep meaning to go back to the Aug and rinse the unlocks, but the ACR/Raf combo is unstoppable in FFA.

At least it would be if my 360 hadn't just RROD! :angry: I wonder if MW2 melted it?

I've not used the ACR yet, the damage looked shit on it so I never bothered. But its a bit frustrating that the SCAR-L has such a shit clip size.

I've not tried the SCAR, I went FAMAS-Aug-ACR. The ACR is definitely my pick of those three, although my heart really belongs to the FAMAS. It really reminds me of the Halo 2/3 Battle Rifle with the shoot-pause-shoot gunplay.

Horses for courses. I started with the M4 maxed it out, moved onto the SCAR-L and then onto the TAR21 and back to the SCAR-L. Think I've only used a FAMAS in anger once and that was due to the fucking SCAR-L running dry. I might give the FNC/ FAL a go...just for lulz.
